Terrance Williams denies hitting a light pole with his Lamborghini.

Williams’ attorney Chip Lewis and Williams each released a statement which can be read in the link below. Part of Lewis’ statement reads: “Contrary to media reports, Terrance did not hit a light pole and there was no light pole even near the vehicle. Secondly, his arrest was wholly unrelated to the traffic accident.” Williams asserts that someone in front of him slammed his breaks, which caused Williams to hop the curb to avoid hitting the other driver and then his car “wouldn’t drive.” Williams says his neighbor then picked him up to take him home, and he then rode a scooter back to the scene of the accident but was arrested by a police officer that he knows. So basically, Williams is claiming his arrest had nothing to do with being drunk or crashing his Lambo into a light pole, thought he did apologize “if I should have handled it a little bit differently.” This situation is a bit of a head-scratcher, as the police reportedly said Williams crashed his car into a light pole. The investigation might tell more about, but either way Williams likely won’t be suspended for this incident.

Terrance Williams was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor public intoxication, according to NFL.com.

Police say Williams was arrested after they found a Lamborghini registered to him crashed into a light pole early this morning, but no drive was at the scene. Williams was later found near his residence on an electric bicycle and was arrested for allegedly being intoxicated. The incident is being investigated, and there’s a chance Williams faces more charges. He could potentially be in trouble with the NFL, but any punishment with the league probably wouldn’t be more than a fine.

Johnny Manziel is playing in the CFL.

Manziel made the announcement on Twitter, and he says he’s signing a two-year deal with the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Aside from The Spring League earlier this year, Manziel hasn’t played in a football game since 2015, so this move to the Canadian Football League is probably necessary if he wants to get back in the NFL, as it’s likely no NFL team wanted to sign him. The former Heisman Trophy winner will look to show he can fully commit to playing football for a team without causing issues, which is seems like he’s ready to do. Still only 25 years old, Manziel might get another shot in the NFL if he shows well in the CFL.

Vincent Jackson has officially retired from the NFL.

Jackson’s agent, Jonathan Feinsod, told ESPN that his client is “very happily retired” from the NFL. The big wide receiver wanted to play last season, but his retirement was expected after no one picked him up in 2017. Jackson was a second-round selection of the Chargers in 2005, and he worked as Philip Rivers’ top wideout early in his career and put up three 1,000-yard seasons in San Diego. Then while in his prime, Jackson signed with the Buccaneers as free agent and put up three-straight 1,000 yard seasons before injuries hit him in 2015 and 2016. For his career, Jackson caught 540 passes for 9,080 yards and 57 touchdowns. Jackson might have been underrated during his career, but he was a big target that could make huge plays down the field and averaged 16.8 yards per reception during his 12 NFL seasons. We wish Jackson luck on the next phase in his life.

Julio Jones isn’t expected to attend OTAs on Monday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

It sounds like Jones will be training on his own during the team’s voluntary OTAs, and Rapoport reports that team is fine with it. The All-Pro signed a big contract back in 2015, but he’s now only the eighth-highest paid receiver in the league and reportedly wants a new deal. Considering Jones is an exemplary team player that’s clearly one of the best talents in the league, it won’t be surprising if the Falcons decide to quickly give their star a pay raise. But if not, it would still be a slight surprise if Jones holds out of training camp. There shouldn’t be much concern about this situation, and Jones’ fantasy value isn’t really affected by this news.

Odell Beckham Jr. will attend voluntary OTAs, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

We have come a long way from earlier this offseason, when it seemed the Giants were poised to trade their star receiver. Beckham previously indicated he wouldn’t step foot on the field without a new contract, so the hard stance taken by the Giants might have nudged OBJ in the right direction. Things could change, but it doesn’t look like any training camp holdout will take place as Beckham hopes to have a big season and show the team they can trust signing him to a huge long-term extension.

Peyton Barber might remain a big part of Tampa Bay’s backfield in 2018.

The Bucs drafted USC running back Ronald Jones II early in the second round of the draft last month, but Buccaneers senior writer Scott Smith believes Jones was drafted to initially compliment Barber. Smith might not have 100% accurate insight on what the team wants to do, but it’s worth noting Bucs running backs coach Tim Spencer says he thinks Barber “has a high ceiling.” Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter seems to like Barber’s ability too, so Jones might not just be inserted into the starting lineup as a rookie. However, Jones is fully expected to be the team’s clear lead runner at some point, and perhaps this season. Barber might deliver some FLEX value early in 2018, though, especially if he gets the nod for scoring chances at the goal line.
