Join now >Alshon Jeffery helps propel Eagles to Super Bowl LII victory with big first half.
Jeffery caught three-of-eight targets for 73 yards and one touchdown, which came from 34 yards out in the first quarter on a sensational high-point catch in the end zone over cornerback Eric Rowe. Alshon was shut down over the final 30 minutes when Stephon Gilmore followed him around more, but he was still targeted in key situations, including in the red zone. Overall, Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles did a great job of at least giving his big-bodied receiver a chance all game. Jeffery will probably be drafted as a WR2 next summer in fantasy drafts with the hopes that he will take a statistical leap in his second year with the Eagles.

The Patriots have selected Miami (FL) wide receiver Braxton Berrios with the 210th pick (sixth round) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Berrios is a quality slot receiver from The U, so this is a typical Patriots pick and the potential successor to Julian Edelman in Josh McDaniels’ offense. However, he will likely need to prove himself in camp, as New England has a ton of depth at wide receiver, and it’s unlikely he makes a big year-one impact from a fantasy perspective.

The Dolphins have officially exercised the fifth-year option on wide receiver DeVante Parker.
Parker, the 14th-overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft, has been banged up for much of his career, but he’s flashed major potential that Miami is wise to keep under team control through 2019. With Jarvis Landry now in Cleveland, Adam Gase’s passing attack should run through Parker, which could lead to some big-time fantasy production. We would bank on Parker finally breaking out in 2018, and he could be a bargain this summer after people were disappointed last year in another injury-plagued season.

The Dolphins have selected Penn State Mike Gesicki with the No. 42 pick (second round) in the 2018 NFL Draft.
It’s easy to see what head coach Adam Gase and the Dolphins saw in Gesicki, as he is in some ways similar to Julius Thomas, who Gase coached in both Denver and Miami. Gesicki has freakish athletic ability, as he showed when he lit up the NFL Combine, and it shows on the football field. Though rookie tight ends typically don’t have a ton of success, Gesicki might step right in as the primary red-zone target for the Dolphins; and despite run-blocking not being a strength, Gesicki is likely to be the team’s clear starter in 2018. TE1 production is a possibility in year one for Gesicki.

Sean McVay expects to be “more present” for Jared Goff this season.
Entering his second season as the Rams head coach, McVay now will “just kind of fine-tune” things instead of having to install his people and methods into the organization when he took over the franchise last year, so he’ll have more opportunities to work directly with his quarterback. McVay and Goff had a ton of success in their first season together, and they’ll look to build on that and form a stronger relationship heading into year two together. With offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur and quarterbacks coach Greg Olson leaving for the Titans and Raiders offensive coordinator jobs, respectively, it’ll be great for the main constant (McVay) to be there for Goff while attempting to offset the loss of two key offensive coaches from last season. For as good as the Rams offense was in 2017 (28.9 points per game, third in the NFL), they’re looking to build upon the success, and they have the potential to turn into an offensive juggernaut with Goff leading the passing game.

The Cowboys have selected Boise State wide receiver Cedrick Wilson with the 208th pick (sixth round) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Wilson is another receiver that lasted a little longer than many expected, but the Cowboys get another receiver to pair with third-round pick Michael Gallup in this draft class. The Boise State product has good size and can create downfield separation, which the Cowboys need, especially because Dez Bryant struggled to do that over the past couple years. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Wilson earn playing time in 2018, so keep an eye on him this summer.

Luke McCown has announced his retirement from the NFL.
The 36-year-old signal-caller and younger brother of Jets quarterback Josh McCown, Luke played 14 seasons with the Browns, Buccaneers, Jaguars, Falcons, and Saints. He threw for 2,370 yards, nine touchdowns, and 15 interceptions throughout his career, which included ten starts. McCown is most famous for being Drew Brees’ backup with the Saints earlier this decade—so much so that he starred in a Verizon commercial about being a backup. He alludes to that in his retirement statement, which you can read below. We wish McCown the best of luck in life after football.
