Join now >The Texans claimed tight end Matt Lengel, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
Lengel has spent time with New England and Cleveland over the last two seasons. Lengel might be able to carve out a role, but Ryan Griffin and Stephen Anderson are the leaders on the depth chart right now for Houston.

Brandin Cooks (head) has been ruled out for the rest of Super Bowl LII.
The Patriots did not hesitate ruling out the dynamic outside receiver, as Cooks was ruled out right after the series in which he was injured. Before leaving, Cooks had one reception for 23 yards, and now he’ll have to hope his team can get a win without him so he gets his first ring. Looking ahead to next season, Cooks will be entering a contract year, and he’ll have a lot of upside as one of Tom Brady’s targets.

The Chargers have waived running back Kenneth Farrow.
Farrow was an undrafted free agent in 2016 that make an impact with 73 touches in 13 games, but an ankle injury suffered last preseason caused him to miss all of the 2017 season. The 25-year-old should sign with a team and get a chance to make a roster in training camp as a third- or fourth-string option this summer. As for the Chargers, they still have Austin Ekeler and Andre Williams behind Melvin Gordon, but they could potentially draft another compliment for their starter in a couple weeks.

Titans GM Jon Robinson talks about Derrick Henry’s ability at running back.
Speaking today at the NFL Combine, Robinson twice brought up Henry’s ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, which is a major positive sign for his fantasy outlook in 2018. Robinson said, “We are glad Derrick is on the football team and look forward to handing it to him, throwing it to him, and getting it in his hands so he can make yards,” and he later added that while Henry is a big back, “I think he can be a guy we can hand the ball to, and throw it to.” While he certainly should respect what DeMarco Murray has done for the team, Robinson was noncommittal on the veteran running back’s roster status moving forward. If Murray ends up being released, Henry will have sky-high upside entering his third NFL season.

The Cowboys have released wide receiver Dez Bryant.
After eight years which included some memorable seasons, games, and plays, Dez Bryant and the Cowboys are parting ways. The receiver was due to make $16.5 million this season, which the Cowboys must not have felt comfortable paying given his production. Bryant was among the league’s best receivers from 2012-2014 when he had at least 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns in three consecutive seasons, but his play declined over the last three seasons after Dallas gave him a huge contract in 2015. Bryant did have some injuries over the last few years, but mostly everyone agrees he wasn’t playing close to as well as he did earlier in his career—Cowboys legend Troy Aikman made it clear he felt that way during a game he called for FOX last season. The former All-Pro won’t have much trouble finding a new team, though it wouldn’t be surprising if he took his time to find the right fit. The Panthers, Bills, Colts, Seahawks, Cardinals, and Texans could all be potential destinations for Bryant.

Brandin Cooks leaves Super Bowl LII.
Cooks just caught a long pass in the second quarter against and took a big hit to the head from Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins, who came out of nowhere and hit Cooks helmet-to-helmet. Cooks was already a runner when he took the hit, so there was no penalty on the play. The speedy receiver was down on the field and walked back to the locker room, so he’s almost certainly headed into concussion protocol. If Cooks’ day is done, it would obviously be a massive loss for New England.

Marlon Mack says he’s motivated to “just go harder.”
With Indianapolis letting Frank Gore leave in free agency, there’s an opening atop the depth chart for the team. Mack told the Colts official website that with the new coaching staff in place, everyone wants to be “the top dog” and lead the backfield. The dynamic second-year second-year back also said he wants to add “a few pounds” this offseason, which shouldn’t effect his explosiveness too much if he’s just going to put on a few pounds. Mack added he’s excited that new head coach Frank Reich’s team used “a bunch of backs” when he was offensive coordinator of the Eagles last season because it gave everyone opportunities and allows them to “work together as a team.” Mack seems to have the right mindset heading into his second NFL season, and right now he appears to be clearly atop the depth chart. However, Indy could be in the market for a running back in the draft, perhaps even Penn State’s Saquon Barkley as high as number six overall.
