Mike Klis of 9News spoke with Elway at the NFL Annual League Meeting, and the Broncos executive said “who knows?” if Anderson will be back with the team next season. Elway stays there are “a lot of moving parts” because of the salary cap. During the NFL Scouting Combine a couple weeks ago, Elway said “we’ll see” if Anderson is back with the team in 2018. The Broncos might be attempting to trade Anderson at some point, as the non-commitment from Elway is probably not something you would do if you want a player to remain on your team. Third-year back Devontae Booker would be set to take a large role for Denver if Anderson is traded or released.

Andrew Luck is throwing weighted balls, according to Ian Rapoport.
Luck said again yesterday that he will not need another surgery, saying “that ship has sailed,” which is great news. And Luck throwing weighted balls is just the step he’s on in his rehab, with going to normal football likely to come next. Given the apparent progress and optimism from Luck and the team, it still seems like there’s a good chance the franchise quarterback is out there for OTAs in the spring. However, Luck isn’t going to rush it and risk a setback just to get back as soon as possible. It sure would be great to see Luck at 100% with the shoulder issues put behind him soon.

Odell Beckham reportedly will not play until he gets a contract extension.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says his understanding is that Beckham “will not set foot on a field without a new contract extension agreed to.” Yesterday, Giants co-owner John Mara said he was “tired of answering questions about Odell’s behavior” and said no one on the team is untouchable—including Beckham. Mara also indicated the team has no problem having Beckham play the final year of his contract out this season. Apparently, Beckham might have heard about Mara’s comments and wants to put it out there that he will not be playing football until he gets a new deal. OBJ already hinted in a tweet this offseason that he won’t be playing in the preseason, and both sides appear to be pulling apart a bit. With a new regime in place for the Giants (new GM Dave Gettleman pulled the franchise tag from cornerback Josh Norman a couple years ago when he was with the Panthers), don’t be surprised by anything that happens with Beckham. If this report is to be believed, a holdout looks likely at this stage.

Allen Hurns is signing with the Cowboys, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.
Anderson says Hurns told her he is signing with Dallas. This is a very good signing at this state of free agency for Dallas, who hasn’t been very active this offseason. Terrance Williams is still in the mix for the Cowboys, but Hurns is likely to compete for a starting job opposite Dez Bryant and is probably the favorite for the job. The former Jaguars receiver is just two years removed from a 1,031-yard, 10-touchdown season, but he hasn’t topped 500 yards in either of the last two seasons while dealing with injuries which limited him to 21 games. The receiving group for Dallas will be a unit to watch leading up to the season, but Hurns should have solid late-round value in fantasy drafts this summer.

Mike Gillislee (knee) remains limited in practice.
If the Super Bowl was this weekend, Gillislee would be listed as questionable for the game. But he has another few days to work his way up to a full practice, so we’ll see if that happens next week.

The Browns signed quarterback Drew Stanton.
The 33-year-old former Cardinals and Lions quarterback is a great addition to a Cleveland quarterback group that’s likely to add a rookie franchise signal-caller with one of their two top-five picks in next month’s draft. From a fantasy perspective, this move doesn’t have a big impact, as Stanton is likely to only be a real-life contributor for Cleveland as a good mentor and veteran presence.

The Jaguars exercised Marcedes Lewis’ 2018 option.
The veteran tight end should be back with the Jaguars for his 13th season, which isn’t a surprise considering his presence steadies the tight end group. At his size, Lewis is a very good run blocking tight end that will at least have a large role as a blocker in 2018. He did have a three-touchdown performance in London against the Ravens and ended up with five scores on the year, but Lewis wasn’t a reliable fantasy option with only 318 receiving yards. It should be more of the same this season, as Lewis will be a good contributor in real life for the Jags, but he might not be much help for your fantasy team.
