Join now >Adam Shaheen (chest) is out for the regular season finale.
The rookie second-rounder appeared in 13 games this season, catching 12 passes for 127 yards and three touchdowns. Catching a touchdown on 25% of his receptions shows the touchdown-scoring upside the big tight end has, and he’ll have a bright future if the Bears offense starts to take off in 2018. As of now, it looks like Shaheen should offer upside at the end of 2018 fantasy drafts.

Chris Hogan (shoulder) is out for Week 17.
Hogan was still only limited in practice all week, so this isn’t a surprise. We would anticipate Hogan being good to go for the playoffs, but it’s not lock. His regular season ends with 34 receptions for 439 yards and five touchdowns in nine games. When he returns for the playoffs, Hogan should step right back into a big role for the Patriots and could be a major difference-maker on another Super Bowl run.

James White (ankle) is inactive for Week 17.
While the Patriots still might need a win to lock up the number one seed in the AFC, they’re reportedly playing it safe with some of their banged up players in advance of the playoffs. Dion Lewis is again set for a major workload today against the Jets; and with Rex Burkhead and Mike Gillislee also out, Brandon Bolden could get several touches in today’s game. White’s regular season ends with 43 carries for 171 rushing yards and 56 receptions for 429 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. His role certainly declined late in the season as Rex Burkhead emerged to get more playing time when he became healthy. White should be ready to go for the playoffs.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins (ribs/foot) is out for Week 17.
Seferian-Jenkins was listed as doubtful coming into today, so this was expected. ASJ had a nice season overall for the Jets, catching 50 passes for 357 yards (both career highs) and three touchdowns. The 2014 second-round pick of the Bucs will be a free agent this offseason, so we’ll see where he lands in free agency.

Ben Roethlisberger is officially out for the regular season finale.
The Steelers are confident that Landry Jones can lead them to a win over the 0-15 Browns, and they’re presumably figuring the health of their starting quarterback is more important than potentially securing the number one seed in the AFC (which would happen with a win and a Patriots loss to the Jets). Roethlisberger’s regular season ends with 4,251 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions, with a 64.2% completion percentage. He’s played really well lately, and he’ll look to make a run to another Super Bowl starting in a couple of weeks with the Divisional Round.
12/31/17 - 11:35 AM ET
Jay Ajayi is inactive for Week 17.
Ajayi is the only Eagles offensive starter that’s resting today, so it looks like they’re going to give him a heavy workload come playoff time. The up-and-down regular season, which included getting traded from Miami to Philadelphia, for Ajayi ends with 208 carries for 873 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown along with 24 receptions for 158 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown in 14 games. Ajayi has averaged 5.8 yard per carry in his seven games with Philadelphia, so he should be a difference-maker in January for a playoff run.
12/31/17 - 11:35 AM ET
Le’Veon Bell is officially inactive for Week 17.
Steelers offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert let the news slip earlier this week, and now it’s official. Bell’s stellar regular season ends with 321 carries for 1,291 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns along with 85 receptions for 655 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. Those that spent a top-three selection in fantasy drafts on Bell must be happy with the results, but they’ll have to go in another direction for the final week of the regular season. We’ll see a fresh Bell in the Divisional Round of the playoffs a couple weekends from now.
