Join now >Patriots struggle offensively in Week 14 loss to the Dolphins.
While the Dolphins typically play the Patriots tough, especially in Miami, this was a surprising game for the Patriots, who didn’t convert on a third down for the first time since 1991. Tom Brady was 24/43 for 233 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the loss, as both interceptions were by cornerback Xavier Howard, who did an excellent job on Brandin Cooks all night. Miami also sacked Brady twice and put him under constant pressure throughout the game. Next week, Brady will get Rob Gronkowski (suspension) back in the lineup, and he’ll be facing a Steelers team that he’s historically torched. Expect a major bounce back for the second week of the fantasy playoffs after tonight’s subpar performance.

Chris Hogan (shoulder) is officially active for Week 14.
After missing the last four games while dealing with his shoulder injury, Hogan is back in the lineup for the Patriots. Before his injury suffered back in Week 8, Hogan was on pace for ten touchdowns this season. In a great offense with the league’s best player throwing him the ball, Hogan immediately becomes a solid option in fantasy lineups and could be a major difference-maker down the stretch for teams in the fantasy playoffs.

Marcus Mariota’s knee issue is a sprain.
Titans head coach Mike Mularkey is on a conference call with reporters and said the injury isn’t serious and that Mariota should be able to practice on Wednesday. This is a big relief, but hopefully Mariota isn’t limited like he was yesterday against the Cardinals. Mularkey admitted that Mariota’s injury limited the Titans gameplay wise during the game, and the third-year quarterback has had a shockingly subpar season with just ten touchdowns and 14 interceptions so far as he’s dealt with injuries—but he still has upside if he can get healthy. Mariota has shown he can win from the pocket and the gameplan this week against the Niners might be more geared toward that, but he’s a risky QB1 option for the second week of the fantasy playoffs.

Josh McCown will undergo surgery on his broken left hand and miss the remainder of the season.
McCown broke his non-throwing hand in Sunday’s loss to the Broncos, and his season will end after surgery. The 38-year-old exceeded expectations in 2017, as he led a New York team that people thought would be contending for the first-overall pick to a 5-8 record, and he set career-highs across the board by completing 67.3% of his passes for 2,926 yards, 18 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. The quarterback market will be unprecedented this offseason between the draft, free agency, and players potentially available via trade, but McCown certainly has a case to be a starter for the Jets or someone else in 2018 if he wants to continue playing. Bryce Petty will likely start the final three games for New York, which is a huge downgrade to the skill-position players.

Carson Wentz has a torn ACL, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson announced.
The second-year quarterback’s MVP-caliber season has come to an end just like that. After tossing four touchdowns against the Rams in a game that sealed the NFC East for the Eagles, Wentz will now hand the keys to Nick Foles as the team attempts to go on a Super Bowl run without the franchise quarterback commanding the offense. Wentz’s spectacular season ends with 3,296 passing yards, 33 passing touchdowns, seven interceptions, a 60.2% completion percentage, 46 rushing attempts, 150 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns. This ACL tear might keep Wentz out into the start of next regular season, and he certainly won’t have the benefit of a critical offseason that could’ve been used to improve on his game. Whenever Wentz does hit the field next season, he should be a solid QB1 option, but hopefully the rehab and recovery goes well so that he might be out there for Week 1—but they shouldn’t rush it. All things considered, Wentz will probably end up being a early-mid round draft selection in 2018 fantasy drafts. We wish him good luck on his recovery, as he’s a great guy that you especially hate to see this happen to.

Chris Hogan (shoulder) is expected to play tonight, according to multiple reports.
Reporters are speculating as well as anyone could, as Hogan has made the trip to Miami and seems poised to return after missing the last four games with his shoulder injury. Check back in tonight at around 7:00 PM ET, but expect Hogan to be in the lineup—and a solid fantasy option—against the Dolphins.

Jesse James catches ten passes in Week 14.
James was targeted 12 times against the Ravens, gaining 97 yards on his ten receptions. The Steelers did throw the ball 66 times in the game, and that’s not going to happen often (if again). James isn’t a highly-reccommended option next week against the Patriots.
