Join now >The Patriots released Dan Vitale, according to multiple reports.
Vitale was a COVID-19 opt-out last season, and the Patriots have decided to move in another direction with a roster spot heading into 2021. Vitale shouldn’t have much trouble landing with a team that might want to utilize his skillset at fullback.

Jeff Wilson has a torn meniscus.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo says Wilson underwent surgery and is expected to miss four-to-six months, so this will be something that almost certainly forces him to miss time. This is a really tough break for Wilson, who came on very strong at the end of last season and looked poised to compete for a big role in the San Francisco backfield. Now, things become clearer, with Raheem Mostert and third-round rookie Trey Sermon set to lead the way to begin the regular season. Wilson will likely be a candidate to start the year on the PUP list, which would force him to miss at least the first six weeks of the season. And the six-month end of the recovery period would force Wilson to miss most of the year. Wilson will look to hit rehab hard and get back on the field as soon as possible, but it’s difficult to count on him as a strong fantasy asset in redraft leagues to open 2021.

Ricky Seals-Jones is signing with Washington.
Washington is extremely deep at tight end, but Seals-Jones should have a shot to win the No. 2 tight end role behind Logan Thomas this summer. For now, RSJ is now a recommended 2021 fantasy option.

The Falcons signed Tajae Sharpe.
Sharpe has familiarity with new Falcons head coach Arthur Smith from their time together with the Titans, and he’ll initially provide depth in the receiving corps for Atlanta—with the potential better opportunity to win a bigger role on offense if Julio Jones ends up getting traded.

The Texans are releasing Ryan Finley.
Houston has a handful of quarterbacks with starting ability on the roster, so it’s not a surprise that they’re parting ways with one of them. Finley was acquired earlier this offseason by the Texans, but now he’ll have an opportunity to land with another team that has a less crowded depth chart. It shouldn’t take long for Finley to find a new squad.

Julio Jones previously requested a trade, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport says Jones requested the trade months ago, which has led to this offseason filled with speculation and rumors surrounding the star receiver’s status. Julio is one of the game’s humblest players despite playing a position that’s been considered “diva”-like over the years, so it’s not a surprise that he quietly requested a trade and has not performed antics to force his way out of Atlanta. Understandably, the Falcons are looking for a first-round pick in return for Jones, which apparently and surprisingly other teams have been unwilling to offer to this point. This explains why Jones said on FS1’s Undisputed this morning that he was “out of there” on a phone call with Shannon Sharpe (which sounded like Jones did not know was being broadcast on live national television). Anyway, Jones might still stay with the Falcons, as it seems the team is not eager to deal away the gamebreaking talent; but a tight cap situation almost certainly makes the trade more likely than it otherwise might be.

The 49ers signed Bennie Fowler.
Fowler is a veteran receiver that will attempt to win a roster spot for the Niners this season. For now, Fowler is not on the radar in most fantasy leagues.
