Join now >The Jets have selected North Carolina running back Michael Carter with the No. 107 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
The 1B option to Javonte Williams’ 1A role at North Carolina, Carter had back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons for the Tar Heels—and 2020 was his best collegiate campaign with 8.0 yards per carry and 10.7 yards per reception (on 25 grabs). Overall, Carter compares very favorably to Devin Singletary, but a limited ceiling in terms of workload if what pushes him behind the top running backs in the class. Perhaps he will get a shot at an extended role in New York, but Carter currently profiles as a late-round flier behind Tevin Coleman and 2020 third-round pick La’Mical Perine. The full scouting report for Carter can be viewed in the link below.

The Chargers have selected Georgia tight end Tre’ McKitty with the No. 97 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
McKitty is a big, well-built target at six-foot-five, and his best football projects to be ahead of him after just 56 career receptions at Georgia. Los Angeles signed Jared Cook and has Donald Parham as a monster target at tight end, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see McKitty turn into the eventual No. 1 target at the position. For redraft leagues, Year 1 value is unlikely.

The Browns have selected Auburn wide receiver Anthony Schwartz with the No. 91 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Schwartz wasn’t highly productive at Auburn (117 receptions for 1,433 yards and six touchdowns in three seasons), but he can absolutely fly and will instantly be one of the fastest players in the NFL. The Auburn product will likely start off as someone that the Browns will get the ball to via screens and push passes, and we’ll see if he can develop into more of an overall receiver and consistent deep threat. He’ll likely be a better real-life contributor—and one that takes the attention of opposing defenses because of his speed—than a fantasy asset.

The Texans have selected Michigan wide receiver Nico Collins with the No. 89 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Collins—a 2020 opt-out—only totaled 78 receptions in three seasons for the Wolverines, but Houston is banking on some untapped potential in as a third-round pick. Although he is bigger (six-foot-four) and ran faster (4.43), Collins could have a role somewhat similar to JuJu Smith-Schuster as an intermediate target with big-play potential early in his career with the Texans. To begin his career, we would say Collins projects to be a better dynasty prospect than redraft factor.

The 49ers have selected Ohio State running back Trey Sermon with the No. 88 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
A natural, well-rounded runner with limited holes in his game and landing in Kyle Shanahan’s offense behind a top offensive line, Sermon is arguably the best long-term investment of rookie runners not named Travis Etienne or Najee Harris. After producing at Oklahoma, the scorching finish to his college career in 2020 while with the Buckeyes—including a record-breaking, 331-yard performance on the ground in the Big Ten Championship Game—seemed to really boost Sermon’s stock, but we still expect him to be significantly undervalued in both redraft and dynasty leagues in favor of more “flashy” rookies. The Niners currently have a crowded running back depth chart, but they traded up for Sermon and clearly see him as a potential impact guy at running back. The full scouting report for Sermon can be read in the link below.

The Packers have selected Clemson wide receiver Amari Rodgers with the No. 85 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Rodgers was always a reliable target for Trevor Lawrence at Clemson, but he really came into his own as a senior—catching 77 passes for 1,020 yards, and seven touchdowns in 12 games. In Green Bay, Rodgers should have a chance to start in the slot, and though not quite on the same level, he might be used in some of the same ways as Deebo Samuel with the 49ers. Perhaps the most impressive thing about Rodgers is his toughness after returning from a torn ACL in less than six months. You can read the full scouting report for Rodgers in the link below. We’ll see if this pick can do anything to appease Aaron Rodgers, and it’s unclear who the rookie receiver Rodgers’ quarterback will be in 2021 at this point.

The Panthers have selected Notre Dame tight end Tommy Tremble with the No. 83 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
A ferocious blocker can be used in a variety of ways for the Carolina offense, Tremble is a tremendous real-life selection, but his statistics might never reach the actual impact he’ll have. That said, there is more than enough athleticism to believe Tremble can turn into a strong receiving weapon for Sam Darnold—it might just take some time as he develops his game. The full scouting report for Tremble can be read in the link below.
