Join now >Kyle Rudolph is signing with the Giants.
Rudolph as an ideal complement to Evan Engram from a real-life perspective, so this is another strong signing by New York as they hope to maximize the supporting cast around Daniel Jones. From a fantasy perspective, though, this signing hurts the value of Engram—particularly when it comes to his touchdown upside, as Rudolph might be a significant factor in scoring territory. With the Giants getting a visit from Kenny Golladay tonight, they could really get a boost in terms of the size that has been lacking offensively in Jones’ first two seasons.

The Raiders have signed Kenyan Drake.
It will reportedly be just a two-year, $11-million deal, but the value can reach up to $14.5 million with incentives. The landing spot is certainly a bit of a surprise with Las Vegas heavily invested in Josh Jacobs as a former first-round pick, especially considering the younger of the former Alabama runners can do more as a pass-catcher if given the opportunity. Instead, the Raiders might have more of a thunder-and-lighting duo in 2021, though fantasy owners shouldn’t be too panicked about Jacobs’ outlook; he will still be the clear starter and goal-line back, and it’s important to note that Drake thrived in a change-of-pace role with the Crimson Tide. This signing opens up a potential featured role for Chase Edmonds in Arizona.

The Raiders re-signed Derek Carrier.
The Raiders like to utilize their tight ends, and Carrier is entering his fourth season with Jon Gruden. From a fantasy perspective, Carrier is off the radar for now.

The Raiders have asked Marcus Mariota to take a pay cut.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says the Raiders have asked Mariota to take a pay cut all the way down to $3 million and that the team will move on if he declines. While Mariota may want to stay in Las Vegas to continue learning from Jon Gruden, we fully expect he will decline this relatively disrespectful paycut request considering his ability and the way he played in his lone appearance last season. The Raiders might end up trading Mariota, but waiting this long didn’t really do the quarterback any favors as he looks to potentially land a starting job for 2021.

The Chargers are signing Jared Cook.
With Hunter Henry leaving for the Patriots during free agency, the Chargers are filling the void with Cook. The veteran tight end has spent the past two seasons with the Saints (along with new Chargers offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi), with touchdown totals of nine and seven (the two highest of his career). He’ll look to be a reliable target for Justin Herbert down the seams and in the red zone this year.

The Patriots are trading Ryan Izzo to the Texans for a 2022 seventh-round pick, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
New England is set at the position with Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry, Devin Asiasi, and Dalton Keene, so they did well to get something in return for Izzo. The 25-year-old—who has averaged 16.5 yards per reception on 19 career grabs—will compete with a few others for snaps in Houston.

The Texans are releasing Darren Fells, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Fells is a big target that caught 11 touchdowns over the past two seasons, and he is also one of the game’s best run-blocking tight ends, so he shouldn’t have trouble finding a new home despite turning 35 next month. Houston has plenty of young options at the position that they will count on in 2021.
