Join now >The Eagles are signing Joe Flacco.
Flacco visited with the Eagles recently, and he’s now signing with the team that’s close to where he grew up in South Jersey. The former Super Bowl MVP figures to be locked into the backup role behind promising second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts, but Philadelphia should feel good if they need to insert him into the lineup. Flacco played well for the Jets last season while filling in for Sam Darnold.

The Eagles waived Deontay Burnett.
Burnett is being waived with a non-football injury designation, so hopefully he’s OK. The USC product is still just 23 years old.

Marcus Mariota will remain with the Raiders in 2021.
Somewhat surprisingly, Mariota conceded to the Raiders’ request that he take a massive paycut down to $3.5 million. With incentives, Mariota can make up to $8 million on his restructured deal, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Mariota likely would have found a starting job if he was released ahead of free agency, but the quarterback jobs filled up pretty quickly, likely leaving him with limited options if he was to decline the paycut and get released. Instead, Mariota will get another year to learn under Jon Gruden before hitting free agency as an intriguing 28-year-old quarterback with playoff experience in 2022. Last season in his lone appearance on a Thursday Night Football game against the Chargers, Mariota showed the ability that made him the second overall pick back in 2015. Derek Carr is firmly entrenched as Las Vegas’ starting quarterback, but the Raiders have a great backup option to turn to if things go south for whatever reason this season.

Isaiah McKenzie has re-signed with the Bills.
McKenzie is a great real-life piece for Buffalo as a versatile player that can contribute both offensively and on special teams. That said, he doesn’t project to carry reliable fantasy value behind Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, Emmanuel Sanders, and Gabriel Davis.

The Dolphins re-signed Mack Hollins.
Hollins is a core special-teams contributor, and he also showed some flashes on offense when given opportunities for the Dolphins last season. The former Eagles draft pick has found a good fit in Miami.

Mike Davis is signing with the Falcons on a two-year deal.
Davis follows up a career year with the Panthers to get a starting job (at least right now) in Atlanta, which was arguably the best landing spot available for free agent running backs. Arthur Smith should lean more on the pass than he did with Tennessee considering the personnel the Falcons have, but Davis possesses a three-down skillset to potentially be drafted as a strong RB2. We’ll see how the rest of the offseason plays out.

The Texans have signed Chris Conley to a one-year deal.
Conley is another veteran addition for a drastically remade roster, but he should still provide plenty of athleticism in his age-28/29 campaign. The former Georgia standout will compete with Isaiah Coulter and others for snaps on a depth chart headed by Brandin Cooks and Randall Cobb.
