Russell Shepard | Retired WR

Russell Shepard catches only target in Week 4.

Shepard gained 13 yards on his lone reception, and he’s not a recommended fantasy option right now despite his contributions to the Panthers.

10/2/17 - 09:46 AM ET

Drew Brees | Retired QB

Drew Brees throws two touchdowns as the Saints get to .500.

Despite either team scoring until a last-second field goal by the Saints to end the first half, Brees had a productive day. He was 29/41 for 268 yards and two touchdowns in the game, and he was in complete command of the offense, as usual. The first touchdown was on a short pass to Michael Thomas in the third quarter, and the second touchdown was on a shuffle pass to Alvin Kamara in the fourth. Brees and the Saints have a bye in Week 5.

10/1/17 - 01:04 PM ET

Jared Cook | Free Agent TE

Jared Cook caught four passes for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s loss to the Redskins.

Washington doesn’t defend tight ends well, and Cook was the only thing working for the Raiders in a game they got dominated in. Oakland has focused on getting their tight end involved, and they should do so again with the Broncos on deck next Sunday. Still, he’s just a streaming option.

9/25/17 - 03:04 PM ET

Matt Jones | Free Agent RB

Matt Jones gets one carry in first game as a Colt.

The third-year back gained three yards on his only carry. The Colts ran the ball 36 times, but veteran Frank Gore handled 25 of the carries. Jones is just a dynasty league option.

9/25/17 - 01:33 PM ET

Jordan Matthews | Panthers TE

Jordan Matthews scores in win over the Falcons.

Matthews caught two passes for 10 yards, including a nine-yard touchdown in the second quarter. It was his first touchdown with Buffalo, and the 25-year-old is on pace for 40 catches for 648 yards and four scores in 2017. Hopefully the Bills air it out more as the season progresses, but they will probably stick with what’s working. Matthews is just a low-upside FLEX option against the Bengals next Sunday.

10/2/17 - 11:49 AM ET

Taylor Gabriel | Retired WR

Taylor Gabriel houses 40-yard screen pass in Falcons’ 30-26 win over the Lions.

Gabriel was able to get into the end zone on a nicely called and executed screen, and finished with five catches for 79 yards and the score. “Turbo” probably isn’t consistent enough to be a reliable fantasy option, but there’s no doubting he’s an important piece for Atlanta’s offense. They get the Bills next Sunday at home.

9/25/17 - 12:53 PM ET

Christian McCaffrey | 49ers RB

Christian McCaffrey gets ten touches in Week 5.

The rookie back had six carries for 16 yards and added four receptions (on six targets) for 33 yards. The Patriots did a good job of containing McCaffrey in the running game and not allowing him to break one in the passing game—though he was used as a decoy on an easy 28-yard touchdown on a misdirection screen to Fozzy Whittaker. Also, Cam Newton overshot McCaffrey on an easy completion in the flat, which could’ve been a solid gain if the ball was in the playmaker’s hands. McCaffrey should be in lineups next week against the Lions.
