Join now >Tyrod Taylor is still in concussion protocol.
He suffered a concussion in Week 3 of the preseason and isn’t cleared yet. It could definitely happen before Sunday, but he’s running out of time. If Taylor isn’t able to get cleared and start against the Jets, rookie Nathan Peterman would get the nod in his first ever NFL game.

Thomas Rawls (ankle) is listed as questionable for Week 1.
Rawls practiced fully from Wednesday to Friday, so he should be better than 50% to play in the game. However, the Seahawks play the Packers in the late afternoon games, so you need to make sure you have other options if you plan on starting Rawls. Given his uncertain workload after he missed the end of the preseason, Rawls should probably be out of your lineup even if he is active, though.

Dede Westbrook is out for Week 1 against the Texans.
The rookie receiver is dealing with a core muscle injury and it’s a bit of a surprise he is already ruled out after playing in the team’s final preseason game. We should get more word on this, and hopefully it’s not something that will keep Westbrook out for an extended period of time.

Rookie Tarik Cohen dazzles in first NFL regular season game.
The North Carolina AT&T rookie led the Bears in both rushing and receiving against Atlanta, carrying five times for 66 yards and catching eight passes for 47 yards and a touchdown. Cohen has a long of 46 yards on the ground, led the team with 12 targets, and had a 19-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter. “The Human Joystick” looks like he’ll have a huge role as a rookie, especially with top receiver Cameron Meredith (ACL) and Kevin White (likely) out for for the season. He’s a FLEX option in both standard and PPR leagues in Week 2 against the Buccaneers.

Le’Veon Bell officially signs his franchise tender.
The Steelers have a two-week roster exemption to keep Bell on the roster, meaning they will have to cut someone for Bell to be active on game day. There isn’t much concern or doubt about Bell being out there Week 1, despite missing the entire preseason while holding out. Bell will make $12.1 million this season before things get really interesting in 2018. Look for the Steelers to feed Bell a ton of touches this season, as it’s possible 2017 is his last in Pittsburgh.

The Bears waived RB Ka’Deem Carey.
Carey was on the team’s Injured Reserve after he had wrist surgery a few weeks ago, but the Bears waived him. When Carey is recovered from wrist surgery, which probably won’t be for at least a couple more weeks, teams will certainly be interested in signing the 24-year-old. Carey is a great contributor on special teams and he can also play on offense.

Kevin Hogan will be the backup quarterback on Sunday for the Browns.
Cody Kessler, who opened the offseason as the starter, seems to have fallen out of favor with the coaching staff. He arguably outplayed starter DeShone Kizer this preseason, but now he’s the third quarterback in Cleveland. Kevin Hogan can be more of a runner, so perhaps the team has some packages for him to run. Also, Kessler might end up being a trade candidate at some point.
