Join now >Bears and Mike Glennon come just short up upset over the Falcons in Week 1.
Glennon took four sacks in the game, but he played well against the defending NFC champions, going 26/40 for 213 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was to electric rookie Tarik Cohen in the fourth quarter. Glennon drove the Bears down the field at the end of the game, but they came up just short on four goal-to-go attempts with under a minute to go in the game. Glennon plays his former team next week as the Bears travel to Tampa to face the Buccaneers.

Bills HC Sean McDermott is confident in rookie Nathan Peterman.
Tyrod Taylor is still in concussion protocol and McDermott said the rookie quarterback is “ready” to start if needed. McDermott added, “we’re confident in Nathan.” Ideally, Taylor would be ready for Week 1, but Peterman came out of a pro style offense at Pitt and looked good this preseason. He won’t be a good fantasy option if he starts, but Peterman should play well if he does have to play on Sunday against the Jets.

The Jaguars placed WR Dede Westbrook on IR.
You had to expect something was up when Westbrook was already ruled out for Sunday’s game. His core muscle injury is likely pretty serious, and he’ll miss at least the first eight games of his season. Westbrook missed the third preseason game with this issue, but the then played in the fourth preseason game; so things might have gotten worse when he played. It looked like Westbrook could be a big contributor to open the season, but Jacksonville does have a deep receiving corps. Undrafted free agent Keelan Cole might be able to take hold of the third receiver job in Jacksonville behind Allen Robinson and Marqise Lee.

Curtis Samuel (ankle) is officially questionable for Week 1.
The dynamic rookie receiver from Ohio State practiced fully all week and should be out there for his first game on Sunday against the 49ers. It’s probably best to see how much Samuel is used before placing him in your fantasy lineup.

Taylor Gabriel catches three passes for 36 yards in Week 1.
Gabriel was targeted four times in the victory over the Bears. He has high upside because of his big-play potential with the Falcons, but there are probably better options for your fantasy lineup.

The Colts placed TE Erik Swoope on IR.
Swoope had a knee scope in mid-August and apparently must’ve had some type of issue and/or recovery did not go as well as expected. It’s possible Swoope misses the entire season, but the Colts can bring him back as one of their designated to return guys after eight weeks. Jack Doyle is the clear top tight end in Indy, but his upside won’t be great until Andrew Luck is back (which could be Week 1, but is probably unlikely at this point).

Josh Doctson (hamstring) is not on the Redskins’ Week 1 injury report.
The second-year receiver had three full practices from Wednesday to today and he’s ready to go against the Eagles. It’s a good matchup for Doctson, but he’s a better play in daily fantasy games than he is in standard leagues. Doctson has the talent to make big plays so he’ll try to put it together in 2017.
