Join now >John Ross (knee) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday.
The rookie receiver was expected to miss the game, but he got in two limited practice sessions yesterday and today so the Bengals aren’t giving up on him. Ross and the Bengals play in the early set of games on Sunday, so fantasy owners will know by 11:30 AM ET if he’ll be available.
9/8/17 - 04:49 PM ET
Phillip Dorsett plays in opening game of the season.
After Danny Amendola left the game with a head injury, the Patriots’ newly-acquired receiver got some time in the game. Tom Brady did target Dorsett on a deep ball, but he was under pressure and they couldn’t connect. Dorsett might work his way into more playing time, but for now he’s clearly the fourth receiver behind Brandin Cooks, Chris Hogan, and Danny Amendola.
9/8/17 - 11:52 AM ET
Demetrius Harris scores first Chiefs touchdown of 2017.
The big tight end scored at 13-yard touchdown when he basically ran a curl route and boxed out Patriots safety Devin McCourty while Alex Smith put the ball right on him. Harris had two receptions for 15 yards and the touchdown total in the game. Harris is only a fantasy option if you are in an extremely deep touchdown-only league.
9/8/17 - 10:33 AM ET
Austin Hooper catches long touchdown in Week 1.
The second-year tight end extended the Falcons’ lead in the fourth quarter when he was wide open down the middle and ran for an 88-yard touchdown. On the run, he stiff armed Bears safety Quintin Demps to finish the play and get in the end zone. Hooper also had a 40-yard reception, so it was quite the day for him. He had two receptions (on two targets) for 128 yards and the touchdown against the Bears. The former Stanford Cardinal was seen as a potential breakout pick this season, and this was a great start to that. Atlanta plays Green Bay in Week 2 on Sunday Night Football.
9/11/17 - 10:38 AM ET
The 49ers signed rookie running back Jeremy McNichols to their practice squad.
McNichols was a fifth-round rookie out of Boise State selected by Tampa Bay, but he didn’t make the cut with the Bucs. He’ll be in a great system with Kyle Shanahan and will look to work his way onto the active roster for San Francisco.
9/3/17 - 03:52 PM ET
Andre Holmes scores in Bills’ Week 1 win over the Jets.
The former Raiders receiver caught a one-yard touchdown in the flat on his only target of the day. He’ll probably be a better real life contributor than he will in fantasy, but he should have some good weeks in 2017.
9/11/17 - 10:25 AM ET
The Saints are signing WR Max McCaffrey to their practice squad, according to Tom Pelissero.
McCaffrey couldn’t crack the final roster for the loaded Green Bay receiving group, but he’s in a good spot in New Orleans with Sean Payton. His brother, Christian, is also in the NFC South with the Panthers.
