Woodhead missed a few weeks and the last two preseason games with a hamstring issue, but he returns to practice today with quarterback Joe Flacco eight days ahead of the team’s season opener. The veteran back should be a big part of the passing attack for the Ravens, and he should be a very good starter in PPR leagues in 2017. He offers a high floor in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts.

The 49ers released Jeremy Kerley, according to multiple reports.
Considering San Francisco just signed Kerley to a three-year extension in March, this is a mild surprise. It looks like Aldrick Robinson or rookie Trent Taylor will be the third receiver for the Niners behind Pierre Garcon and Marquise Goodwin. Kerley will is only 28 and will receive interest from other teams after leading the 49ers in receiving last season.

The Vikings are officially placing Teddy Bridgewater on the PUP, according to Tom Pelissero.
It was reported yesterday that this move was expected. Bridgewater will miss the first six weeks of the season, but he can focus completely on finishing up his recovery and hopefully getting to 100%. If Bridgewater is good to go after six weeks, he’ll very likely take over as the backup behind starter Sam Bradford. It sure will be great if and when Bridgewater is back for the Vikings after his devastating knee injury last year.

The Titans cut receiver Tre McBride.
McBride played very well this preseason, but he unfortunately did not make Tennessee’s final roster. The 24-year-old will definitely draw interested elsewhere after he flashed during the preseason, but it’s also possible he clears waivers and the Titans bring him onto the practice squad.

Joe Williams (ankle) is being placed on IR, according to Tom Pelissero.
The 49ers’ fourth-round pick looked to fall out of favor as the preseason progressed, and it turns out this will amount to a redshirt year for him. Carlos Hyde is locked-in as the workhorse back in Kyle Shanahan’s offense for 2017, but Williams remains a hold in dynasty leagues as the potential guy in the future. Remember, Shanahan pushed hard for John Lynch to draft Williams after Lynch had him off his board.

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett was traded from the Patriots to the Colts.
ESPN’s Field Yates was the first to report this trade, and it was a bit of a surprise. In exchange for Brissett, the Patriots received third-year receiver Phillip Dorsett (a 2015 first-round pick) from Indy. This move by Indianapolis could mean they really don’t anticipate Andrew Luck being ready for next Sunday, and it’s possible Brissett steps right in and plays over Scott Tolzien and Stephen Morris. If not, the Colts still have Brissett under contract for three more seasons as one of the best backup quarterbacks in the league.

Colts and Patriots swap Dorsett for Brissett.
This is a bit of a surprise, as the Colts trade their 2015 first-round pick WR Philip Dorsett to the Patriots for New England’s 2016 third-round pick QB Jacoby Brissett, according to multiple reports (first reported by Field Yates). After new Colts GM Chris Ballard stepped in, there was speculation that Dorsett could be on his way out (especially after the Colts signed Kamar Aiken). Meanwhile, New England turned their third string quarterback into a potential playmaking receiver after the loss of Julian Edelman. Dorsett probably isn’t going to step right in and get a lot of playing time for the Pats, but he’s someone to keep an eye on for sure.
