Join now >The Redskins traded TE Derek Carrier to the Rams, according to Adam Schefter.
Rams head coach Sean McVay was Carrier’s offensive coordinator in Washington, and he apparently liked him enough to bring him in. The Rams have second-year tight end Tyler Higbee and rookie tight end Gerald Everett, so Carrier is unlikely to have fantasy value this season. But he adds some excellent depth to the tight end group for LA.

The Seahawks cut running back Mike Davis.
Davis is a talented player, but he and Alex Collins both fell victim to the numbers game in Seattle—especially with seventh-round rookie Chris Carson being extremely impressive. There will be interest in Davis from other teams, and he might be able to sign in the next few days.

Joe Flacco is back at practice for the Ravens.
After missing the entire season while nursing a back issue, Flacco is back and practicing for the Ravens eight days before their season opener. He’ll have a few practices to get back to the swing of things, and there’s not really any concern about his Week 1 status. The bigger concern for Flacco is getting on the same page with his receivers—new addition Jeremy Maclin, in particular. Regardless, Flacco’s return is a huge boost for the entire offense, and you can feel safe drafting the skill position players for Baltimore.

The Lions waived rookie quarterback Brad Kaaya.
Detroit is only keeping two quarterbacks, as Jake Rudock will be behind Matthew Stafford. Kaaya is a sixth-round pick from a pro-style offense at Miami, and the Lions are likely to put him on the practice squad if he clears waivers.

The Seahawks are waiving Alex Collins, according to Tom Pelissero.
Seattle was trying to trade Collins over the past couple of days, but no team took them up on it with the team having no leverage. The Seahawks have Eddie Lacy, Thomas Rawls, C.J. Prosise, and Chris Carson at running back, so there just wasn’t enough room for Collins. As a fifth-round pick just last year that had a very productive college career, Collins will likely be right behind Matt Jones in drawing interest from other teams tomorrow at noon Eastern.

The Titans placed Tajae Sharpe on IR, according to Jason Wolf.
Wolf, of the Tennessean, reports Sharpe re-injured his foot in the team’s final preseason game versus the Chiefs and will be placed on season-ending injured reserve. Sharpe had surgery in the spring on a stress fracture in his foot, and apparently issues popped back up with it. This is obviously unfortunate for Sharpe, who will now look to 2018 to get fully healthy; but this does not have big fantasy implications, as Sharpe was expected to be fifth on the depth chart for the Titans.

The Browns traded for Steelers receiver Sammie Coates, according to multiple reports.
NFL Network reports the Browns traded a 2018 sixth-round pick to Pittsburgh for Coates. It’s a very nice get for Coates, who is a former third-round pick (87th overall) in the 2015 draft. The Steelers had a crowded group of receivers, and it looks like Justin Hunter might have won a roster spot after this trade. As for Coates, he’s only 24-years-old and has a ton of talent; he’s shown he can make plays in the NFL, but dealt with a hand injury that hindered him most of last season. Coates might step right in as a top three receiver behind Corey Coleman and Kenny Britt in Cleveland, but he’s more of an option in dynasty leagues than standard leagues right now.
