ASJ had two receptions (on two targets) for 32 yards and a touchdown versus the Eagles. On his first catch, he caught a drag route and showed his improved speed—thanks to his weight loss—taking it for 20 yards. Seferian-Jenkins then went up and caught a pass in the end zone for a touchdown in the second quarter. He’s suspended the first two games of the season, but Seferian-Jenkins could be a big part of the passing offense when he returns for the Jets.

Elijah McGuire carries five times for 56 yards in fourth preseason game.
The Jets rookie running back had a 34-yard run and led the team in rushing in the exhibition versus the Eagles. McGuire will enter the season as the number three running back unless the Jets part ways with Matt Forte; in which case, McGuire would be the backup behind Bilal Powell. McGuire is worth a roster spot in dynasty leagues as a potential long-term guy in the Jets’ backfield.

Christian Hackenberg throws touchdown in Jets’ fourth preseason game.
Hackenberg entered after Josh McCown played a couple series, and he went 10/22 for 105 yards and a touchdown. The second-year quarterback was sacked three times and did lose a fumble, but he threw the ball OK for completing under 50% of his passes. Hackenberg’s touchdown throw was a nice one to tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins in the end zone. McCown is opening the season as the Jets starter, but Hackenberg is likely to make some starts in 2017 if/when the Jets are out of contention.

Bilal Powell plays in the Jets’ fourth preseason game.
The offensive starters played a couple series for the Jets, and Powell was out there with them, carrying six times for five yards and adding two receptions for 23 yards. If the Jets part ways with Matt Forte before Saturday’s 4:00 PM ET deadline, whether through trade or release, Powell would be in line for a huge workload for the Jets this season.

Colts owner Jim Irsay admitted Andrew Luck might not be ready for Week 1.
It’s a little over a week from the opener, and Luck still isn’t activated from the PUP. Irsay said he sure hopes Luck can play in the opener, but added, “I would say, again, the odds are most likely he probably won’t open up against the Rams,” according to the IndyStar. The Colts and Luck have both been clear this entire time that they are thinking about the long-term and will not rush the recovery from shoulder surgery—when he’s ready, he’s ready. It’s possible Luck practices next week for the Rams next Sunday, but the chances aren’t looking better than 50% at this point.

The NFLPA is taking the NFL to court over the Ezekiel Elliott situation.
Despite Harold Henderson not ruling on Elliott’s appeal of his six-game suspension for alleged domestic violence, the NFLPA isn’t waiting—they requested a temporary restraining order to block any Elliott suspension. This comes just hours after reports emerged that said Kia Roberts, the NFL’s director of investigations, was the only one to interview Elliott’s accuser Tiffany Thompson and did not think Elliott should be suspended. The NFLPA asserts in their filing, “there was a League-orchestrated conspiracy by senior NFL executives …. to hide critical information — which would completely exonerate Elliott,” according to ESPN. Unless Henderson completely wipes out Elliott’s suspension, this could be a long process. Expect Elliott to be on the field in Week 1 and likely beyond in 2017.

Positive Ezekiel Elliott reports emerge regarding his appeal.
A report from the Star-Telegram and a report from ESPN both say Kia Roberts, the NFL’s director of investigations, was the only one to interview Ezekiel Elliott’s ex-girlfriend Tiffany Thompson—the alleged victim at the center of the alleged domestic violence. According to the reports, Roberts testified during Elliott’s appeal that she recommend Elliott not be suspended after talking to Thompson. Now, we wait for Harold Henderson to make his decision on Elliott’s suspension, and this could indicate some games being taken off the current six-game ban. If Henderson doesn’t make a decision by Tuesday at 4:00 PM ET, Elliott will be able to play in Week 1. However, it certainly sounds like Elliott and the NFLPA will be challenging any suspension in court. Chances are Elliott plays in Week 1, and maybe even for the entire 2017 season if this goes to court and he gets an injunction.
