Join now >Brian Quick catches two passes for 19 yards in Week 3 of the preseason.
The former Rams receiver got open in the end zone late in the game, but he dropped a would-be touchdown from Colt McCoy. Quick did an excellent job of getting his feet in bounds at the back of the end zone, but he appeared to look down at the feet and it caused him to drop the ball. This Thursday could be a big game for Quick, as he attempts to make Washington’s final roster.

Adam Schefter reports Harold Henderson is “under pressure” to make a decision on the Elliott suspension by Monday.
Henderson is hearing Ezekiel Elliott’s appeal of his six-game suspension handed down by the NFL for alleged domestic abuse. Because Dallas’ first game is next Sunday, there would ideally be a decision before the Cowboys start practice for the week. Appeal officers are supposed make as quick of a decision as practical in these cases, and most would hope Henderson has enough time to think about it over the weekend. The Cowboys are probably applying the pressure to Henderson, as well as Elliott—who might take this to court if he does not like the results of the appeal. Unfortunately, many are having their fantasy drafts over the weekend and a decision might not be made by that time. Hopefully Henderson makes a decision sometime early on Saturday or Sunday.

Matt Jones enters toward the end of the Redskins’ third preseason game.
Jones had five carries for five yards and two receptions for ten yards. It’s hard not to feel for Jones, who really has been buried on the depth chart with the Redskins intent on not trading or releasing him. Former Redskins GM Scot McCloughan said this week that he believes there’s no doubt Jones is the best running back in Washington’s backfield. We might not be able to find out as long as he’s with the Redskins, but Jones could be getting released on Friday when cuts are made.

Seahawks running back Alex Collins is on the trade block, according to Ian Rapoport.
Collins, a very productive running back out of the University of Arkansas, was a fifth-round pick by Seattle in 2016, but the backfield has become extremely crowded after the additions of Eddie Lacy and rookie Chris Carson. The Seahawks would have to keep five running backs if they are going to keep Collins, so they’re trying to trade him. Because other teams know they are stacked in the backfield, the Seahawks might struggle to get what they want for Collins, though. If Collins ends up getting cut, there will probably be teams lining up to sign him.

Mack Brown gets three carries in Week 3 of the preseason.
He had three carries for 13 yards and is ahead of Matt Jones in the Redskins backfield. He’ll probably make the team as the fourth running back.

Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians thinks Blaine Gabbert could be a starting quarterback again.
Arians said, of Gabbert, “I’ve been very pleased. Short-term, I’d be very comfortable if he had to play for us. Long-term, if he continues at this rate, he could be a starter.” Right when Arizona signed Gabbert, it was clear the 27-year-old could potentially be the heir apparent to Carson Palmer. Gabbert is with a great coach for quarterbacks and has some excellent physical tools. Our thought was if Gabbert showed well in practice, he could be a long-term answer for the Cardinals—and he certainly has shown well through training camp and preseason games. Palmer will be 38 in December and has hinted a retirement, so don’t be surprised if Gabbert is under center for the Cardinals’ opening game for the 2018 season.

Samaje Perine doesn’t get much going in Week 3 of the preseason.
The rookie from Oklahoma had five carries for five yards in the exhibition against Cincinnati. He did mix in with the first team and didn’t play late in the game with the backups, so that’s a positive sign. Still, he’s behind Rob Kelley right now for touches and is only a late-round flier.
