Join now >Frank Gore (lung, concussion) will not play in Week 17.
Gore helped the Jets get their second consecutive win yesterday, and there’s a chance the future Hall of Fame running back has played his last down in the NFL. Gore certainly has the ability to keep playing if he wants to, but we’ll see what he decides. The ageless runner’s 2020 season ends with 187 carries for 653 yards and two touchdowns, along with 16 receptions for 89 yards including the game-clincher to get the Jets their first victory in Week 15. Gore also became the third player in NFL history to reach 16,000 rushing yards last week.

Washington has released Dwayne Haskins, according to NFL Network.
Haskins was the No. 15 overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, but numerous issues with immaturity combined with sub-par on-field performance already has the franchise moving on. Ron Rivera obviously wasn’t around when the team selected Haskins, so that likely made the decision even easier at this point. It will be interesting to see if anyone claims Haskins, but he has a lot of growing up to do if he’s going to get his career on the tracks. In 16 appearances with Washington, Haskins threw for 2,804 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions—going 3-10 as the starter.

Jakeem Grant has a high-ankle sprain, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Grant will be out in Week 17 as Miami looks to make the postseason, and it’s possible he doesn’t return for the playoffs. In 14 regular season games, Grant caught 36 passes for 373 yards and one touchdown, but the biggest loss will be on special teams where he was one of the best punt returners in the league.

Terry McLaurin is dealing with a high-ankle sprain.
This is usually a multi-week injury, and McLaurin is currently in a walking boot. Washington having a chance to win the NFC East on Sunday night could lead to McLaurin toughing it out by playing through the injury, but he would be much less than 100%—especially after just one week of rest.

Jared Goff (thumb) may not play in Week 17, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
[UPDATE: Goff is dealing with a broken right thumb, according to NFL Network, so Goff’s Week 17 status looks to be in obvious doubt.] Goff and the Rams offense struggled in their loss to the Seahawks today, and the thumb appeared to be a part of that. Goff was often seen messing with his thumb and apparently trying to get comfortable, and now the quarterback will undergo additional testing. We should get more word on Goff’s status in the next day or so, but he’ll obviously do all he can to get on the field for a win-and-in game to conclude the regular season next Sunday.

Dallas Goedert (calf) is officially questionable to return for the Eagles.
It’s unclear when Goedert was injured, but Zach Ertz will be the clear top target among Philadelphia tight ends until Goedert can return to the game.

Darrell Henderson Jr. (ankle) is officially doubtful to return for the Rams.
Henderson had his ankle twisted pretty badly while diving for the end zone and coming up short, and it’s not a great sign that he’s being called doubtful. Before leaving, Henderson had 12 carries for 62 yards. Malcolm Brown will now lead the Rams backfield against the Seahawks.
