Join now >Todd Gurley isn’t playing for the Rams tonight.
Gurley doesn’t have any type of injury we’re aware of, so the Rams are likely just sitting him out of this exhibition so he’s healthy for the regular season. The Rams open the season versus the Colts on September 10, and Gurley should get a lot of work in that game and all season.

Brandon Marshall is not playing for the Giants in Week 3 of the preseason.
This isn’t a surprise as the Giants aren’t rushing back Marshall after he injured his shoulder in last Monday’s preseason game against Cleveland. Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) also is not playing, so Eli Manning will be without his top two receivers. Marshall’s preseason is almost certainly over, and the focus now shifts to the Cowboys in Week 1.

Jaguars receiver Marqise Lee (ankle) returned to practice today.
Lee suffered a high ankle sprain about two weeks ago, so it’s a bit surprising to see him back out there already. Hopefully he didn’t rush back, but at least there’s not much question he’ll be good to go for Week 1 against the Texans. Currently, Lee is not getting drafted, but don’t be surprised if he delivers solid fantasy value in 2017.

Dede Westbrook practiced for the Jaguars today.
The rookie receiver sat out Jacksonville’s third preseason game on Thursday night with a lower body injury, but he’s already back at practice. It sounds like the Jags were being careful with Westbrook. He’ll probably be playing on Thursday night in the Jaguars’ preseason finale.

Leonard Fournette returned to practice for the Jaguars today.
Fournette missed about two weeks with a foot issue the Jaguars were being cautious about, but he’s back now. It’s a great sign for his Week 1 outlook, as he’ll have several practices to get back into the swing of things. Fournette’s first game will be against the Texans on September 10, and he’ll look to make a statement. The presence of Chris Ivory in the backfield is a slight concern, especially if Ivory takes goal line carries, but Fournette is expected to get a lot of work as a rookie.

MRI confirms Julian Edelman has a torn ACL, according to Albert Breer.
Everyone was hoping for some good news after initial tests made the Patriots suspect a torn ACL for Edelman, but unfortunately Edelman will now miss the entire season. It’s just very unfortunate for Edelman, who was going to be a big part of a Patriots team looking to win its third Super Bowl in four seasons. Everyone in New England’s offense will have to pick up the slack for Tom Brady’s trusted receiver, but this should mean more playing time for Danny Amendola and Malcolm Mitchell, while Chris Hogan and Brandin Cooks could see a little more time inside. As for Edelman, he’ll be 32 in May and will have to rehab his knee injury; sadly, there’s a chance he’s played his final snap in New England if the Patriots decide to move on after the season. The good news is Edelman just signed a two-year extension this offseason that gave him $7 million guaranteed. And he’d almost certainly be willing to take a pay cut to stay in NE. Hopefully we see him back on the field at 100% for the Pats in 2018.

De’Anthony Thomas takes kick to the house in preseason game.
Thomas returned a kick in the first half of the Week 3 preseason exhibition against Seattle for a 95-yard touchdown. The former Oregon star accelerated up the field and shed a couple tackles before getting to the sideline and easily zooming to the end zone. With fellow dynamic receiver Tyreek Hill not returning kicks this year, the Chiefs will be looking for this from Thomas during the season—and it’s something he’s certainly shown he can do. And fantasy owners of Kansas City’s defense will also be happy if he makes plays like that this year. Thomas also had a seven-yard reception in the game.
