Join now >Aaron Jones plays clearly behind Jamaal Williams in Ty Montgomery’s absence.
Jones rushed three times for 14 yards and caught four passes for 11 yards, including a five-yard touchdown. Fellow rookie Jamaal Williams saw all the work with Aaron Rodgers, but Jones had a better game. Both are players to keep an eye on behind Ty Montgomery on a Rodgers-led offense.

Jeremy Hill starts second straight preseason game for the Bengals.
Hill was ahead of rookie Joe Mixon, who also worked with the first team. Hill carries six times for 28 yards against the Chiefs. He’s starting right now, but that can change at any moment. Even if he is the starter, Hill will almost certainly get less work than in recent years with Mixon now in the mix.

A.J. McCarron throws interception in preseason loss to the Chiefs.
McCarron was 8/15 for 93 yards and an interception. The soon-to-be-27-year-old quarterback would probably like more of an opportunity to start somewhere. Perhaps the Jaguars, who are having quarterback issues, will inquire about the two-time national champion at Alabama.

Quarterback Taysom Hill leads the Packers in rushing on Saturday night.
Hill was 6/11 for 49 yards passing, but rushed six times for 38 yards, including a 23-yard score in the fourth quarter. The 26-year-old rookie should find his way onto a practice squad in 2017.

Andy Dalton goes 7/13 for 98 yards in Bengals’ second preseason game.
Dalton and the offense did OK moving the ball against the Chiefs defense, but they couldn’t come away with any touchdowns. The Bengals will play the Redskins in their third preseason game next Sunday at 4:30 PM ET. Dalton should play at least a half in that game.

Brett Hundley was 9/10 for 107 yards and one touchdown in the Packers’ second preseason game.
Hundley continues to impress, with the highlight of the night being a perfectly-thrown deep ball to Jeff Janis down the right sideline. Teams in need of a quarterback would be wise to give Green Bay a call, though they probably would want an early pick for their backup, especially since he is under contract for two more years.

Aaron Rodgers starts Packers’ second preseason game.
We thought Rodgers might not be seen until the third preseason game, but he played and orchestrated a 15-play touchdown drive in the win. He was 6/8 for 37 yards and a score, adding two rushes for 15 yards. Rodgers made easy work of the Redskins defense, but will have a tougher opponent in the Broncos next Saturday for the regular season dress rehearsal.
