The Giants’ passing down back didn’t catch any passes, but it’s good to see him in game action after a triceps injury sent him to IR last season. Look for Vereen to get more playing time this preseason when Eli Manning starts to play.

Ezekiel Elliott’s appeal hearing is expected to be on August 29.
This, according to Adam Schefter, who cites the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement. August 29 is a Tuesday, nearly two weeks before the Cowboys’ season opener against the Giants. Elliott and the NFLPA could always take this to court if they don’t agree with the results of the appeal, but the NFL’s decision on the appeal will come before the regular season, which would give more clarity on the situation. Ideally, you’ll be able to have your fantasy draft during Labor Day weekend so you can know Elliott’s fate before your draft.

Wayne Gallman doesn’t find much running room in preseason debut.
The fourth-round rookie from Clemson had five carries for 11 yards and one reception for four yards. Gallman definitely has the ability to make an impact, but he is behind at least Paul Perkins and Shane Vereen for now.

DeMarco Murray “worked extensively” in Titans practice tonight.
Jim Wyatt of the team’s official website tweeted this is Murray’s “biggest step in return from hamstring injury.” It appears Murray is very, very close to 100% recovered from his hamstring injury, if he isn’t there yet. Murray might be able to play in the team’s second preseason game this Saturday against the Panthers, though they might ultimately decide to hold him out. Murray’s ADP hasn’t been affected by this and it should remain at the first/second round borderline.

Orleans Darkwa picks up 18 yards on three carries in preseason opener.
Darkwa outperformed starter Paul Perkins, who couldn’t find much running room against the Steelers. Darkwa is a very good bet to make the final roster for the Giants, and he could get more playing than people anticipate this season.

There’s “no question” Paul Richardson will be ready for the season opener.
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told reporters today that Richardson jumped right back into practice (on a limited basis) today after injuring his shoulder during Sunday’s preseason game against the Chargers. Richardson likely realizes he has a great opportunity to be one of Seattle’s top three receivers this season and doesn’t want to give anyone a chance to take that away. If that is indeed what Richardson is thinking, it’s a great attitude to have and one that Pete Carroll and the Seahawks will love. Richardson has sleeper potential as someone that stepped up and made plays at the end of last season and in the playoffs for the Seahawks.

Giants rookie quarterback Davis Webb goes 8/16 for 67 yards in NFL preseason debut.
At 6’5″, Webb looks like the part, but the Giants are taking it slow with him. He hasn’t gotten many full-team reps in training camp, and he entered the preseason game against the Steelers in the fourth quarter. Ben McAdoo and the Giants could be taking it slow with Webb and grooming him to take over as the quarterback after Eli Manning. It seems the backup job for 2017 will come down to Josh Johnson and Geno Smith.
