Join now >T.J. Logan is out for 12 weeks, head coach Bruce Arians announced.
It turns out the wrist injury to the rookie running back is a dislocated wrist that he’ll need surgery on. He’ll be placed on IR, but it’s possible he’s one of the players that’s brought off IR (remember: a rule change passed allowing two players (it was previously one) to come off IR as designated to return players). Logan was looking like he might be the primary return man for the Cardinals this season, but now J.J. Nelson, John Brown, and others are likely to fill the role. All-Pro Patrick Peterson returned 13 punts last season (a career low), but he’ll probably be used back there some again this season.

Browns head coach Hue Jackson says Corey Coleman “looks like that old Corey.”
The second-year receiver is healthy and was “active for the majority of practice and made his presence felt during team drills” in the team’s first training camp practice today, according to Andrew Gribble of ClevelandBrowns.com. Hue Jackson said Coleman looks “explosive” and they hope to keep him healthy and explosive heading to the regular season so he plays like they think he can. Remember, Coleman exploded on to the scene last year, catching five passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns against the Ravens in Week 2 before breaking his hand in practice the week after and never getting back on track when he returned in Week 9. The Browns definitely like Coleman, and that’s why they made him the first receiver selected in last year’s draft. Currently going outside the top 40 receivers, Coleman offers great upside as a potential number one receiver on an offense that should improve in 2017.

According to Dianna Russini of ESPN, Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti has resisted signing Colin Kaepernick.
Russini tweeted “Ravens HC John Harbaugh & GM Ozzie Newsome support signing Colin Kaepernick, but have met resistance from owner Steve Bisciotti per sources”. Bisciotti already said at a fan forum a few days ago that he did not like Kaepernick’s protest last season, adding that he wasn’t sure Kaepernick could help the team. Bisciotti owns the team, so he can do what he wants. Colin Kaepernick was free to protest last year, and NFL owners are also free to not employ him.

49ers GM John Lynch: Carlos Hyde looks “tremendous”
Lynch was asked if any player has stood out to him, in terms of being in great shape, and Lynch said “Carlos Hyde looks tremendous. He’s really dedicated himself.” Hyde weighed in at 228 pounds when he reported to camp today and says it’s the lightest he’s been since high school, adding “I’m in the best shape of my life right now.” The fourth-year back also thinks he’s a perfect fit in Kyle Shanahan’s offense and thinks he can lead the league in rushing in the scheme. There’s been speculation and talk of Hyde not making the 49ers roster, but that doesn’t seem likely to happen—while he has battled injuries through three seasons, he’s just too good to cut. The 25-year-old is entering a contract year, and it could be a big one.

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah on Nelson Agholor: “He’s gonna be their slot receiver. I’ll be shocked if he’s not.”
Jeremiah, a scout for Philadelphia earlier this decade, said on his podcast that the former first-round pick has “had a total rebirth.” Agholor has been praised all offseason by people around the team, and Jeremiah continued that, saying he “turned Richard Sherman inside-out” and “separation was not his issue last year.” Jeremiah is one of the best analysts in the business, so it should be comforting to hear this as an Eagles fan (or someone that owns Agholor in a dynasty league). If he does play the slot, it could mean that Jordan Matthews is a trade candidate over the next few weeks. Agholor has the talent to be a star, and he’s definitely someone to keep an eye on, especially if the injury-prone Alshon Jeffery ever misses time.

Jerry Jones talks Ezekiel Elliott situation.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said on SiriusXM NFL Radio that he thinks there will be a decision “imminently” on the Elliott matter, but isn’t sure. He might be hoping more than anything that the NFL makes a decision soon. Jones also said that he heard from both Elliott’s side and from the league’s side and again declared there was “no domestic violence.” The NFL would do well to make a decision soon if the investigation is really over, as reported.

The Ravens are interested in free agent quarterback Aaron Murray, according to Dianna Russini.
Baltimore is looking for another quarterback to bring in, with Joe Flacco dealing with his back issue. CBS Sports actually just announced yesterday that they have hired the 26-year-old Murray as a broadcast analyst for college football, so it’s unclear if he’ll be interested coming back to the NFL. The Ravens would provide him an opportunity to make the final roster.
