Join now >Marquise Goodwin is making an early impression for the 49ers.
The free agent acquisition impressed in the offseason by all accounts, including teammate Jeremy Kelsey calling Goodwin an “all-around receiver.” Goodwin is showing he can run all routes instead of just go-routes, which head coach Kyle Shanahan says doesn’t allow corners to get a “15-yard head start” on defending him on deep routes. Cornerback Rashard Robinson, who is also very fast himself, said running with Goodwin is “like a track meet almost.” Pierre Garcon is going to be the number one, but Goodwin is looking like a lock for the number two receiver for the Niners. Goodwin is not even on the draft radar, with an ADP of outside the top 250, but don’t be surprised if he delivers fantasy value in 2017.

Duke Johnson Jr. could be the Browns’ slot receiver this season, according to Mary Kay Cabot.
Mary Kay Cabot says Johnson worked as a slot receiver throughout the offseason, and she thinks there’s a “good chance” he’s the team’s primary slot receiver this season. Johnson is a running back and averaged 4.9 yards per carry last season (which is excellent), but he also excels as a receiver. The Browns have only given Johnson 177 carries through two seasons, using him more as a receiver out of the backfield while also splitting him out more than most backs in the league. Johnson has at least 50 receptions and 500 yards in each of his seasons, and he should blow that away if he stays healthy and really does have a role as the primary slot receiver. He could be someone that gets dual eligibility at two different positions for fantasy lineups, and he could become among the best assets in PPR leagues this year.

The Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero says that Tannehill (knee) is “not out of the woods” yet.
Salguero says according to multiple sources, all options remain on the table for Tannehill after the quarterback’s MRI was inconclusive. Per Salguero, the quarterback could still require season-ending surgery, which would obviously be the worst-case scenario for the Dolphins. We should wait until we hear official word from the team, but it seems like Tannehill could miss the season just as easily as he could be fine for the regular season.

John Brown put on 13 pounds of muscle compared to last year
This is great because Brown battled sickle cell trait issues last season and had his worst year in three seasons. He also had a cyst on his spine and was able to workout more and put on the weight after it was removed. By all accounts, including from head coach Bruce Arians, “Smokey” looks back to normal. Despite the added weight compared to last season, Brown says he didn’t lose his speed and he’s been flying around throughout the offseason and the first practice of training camp. The 27-year-old is currently going outside the top 45 receivers in fantasy drafts, and he could be one of the biggest bargains if his ADP remains there come draft time.

MMQB’s Peter King says the Broncos are “looking to get” Jamaal Charles 8-10 touches per game.
King reports Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy says Charles tells him he feels “great” every time he sees him, and Charles told King he has “zero knee pain” right now. The likely future Hall of Famer averages 5.5 yards per carry for his career, so he doesn’t need a ton of carries to pick up yardage. If he is only in that limited role, he probably doesn’t have the upside as a top ten option at the position. C.J. Anderson is probably locked into 15+ touches if the Broncos want to run the ball and rely on their defense.

Sam Bradford feels he’s in a “much better situation this year.”
The Vikings quarterback told Sid Hartman of the Star Tribune he’s a lot more comfortable going through a full offseason with the team. This is not at all surprising, considering Bradford was traded from Philadelphia to Minnesota just a week before the season last year—that’s difficult for any position, especially quarterback. Bradford also said he thinks the change to Pat Shurmur as offensive coordinator in middle of last season helped him, as Shurmur previously coached him in both St. Louis and Philadelphia, and they are familiar with each other. The 29-year-old quarterback should benefit from the full offseason and upgrades to the offensive line. He’s entering a contract year and could put up some big numbers this season after throwing for 3,877 yards, 20 touchdowns, and five interceptions in 15 games after arriving with the team just before the season. Bradford is currently going undrafted in fantasy leagues.

Dolphins receivers coach Shawn Jefferson says DeVante Parker will be a “monster” this year.
According to the Sun-Sentinel, Jefferson said “He’ll be a monster. If he keeps progressing like we think he can, he’ll be invited to the Monster Bowl after the Super Bowl. His name is not DeVante, he’s a Monster. So if he keeps performing like this he’ll be invited to the Monster Ball after the season is over.” The hype for the third-year receiver has gone on for months and is now out of control—but it’s coming from his own coaches. It’d be a big shock if he didn’t provide a big return on his current ADP, which is outside the top 40 receivers.
