Join now >Browns receivers coach Al Saunders “would be shocked” if Terrelle Pryor doesn’t make the Pro Bowl this season.
This is big, considering Pryor is now with the Redskins and Saunders is still with the Browns—Saunders would not be saying this if he didn’t believe it. Saunders coached Pryor last season as he broke out for 77 receptions, 1,007 yards, and four touchdowns while still transitioning as a receiver. Pryor’s former receivers coach said the 6’4″ receiver is a “special guy” and stressed how impressive it was for Pryor to make the transition and have a big year in 2016. Working out with Antonio Brown and Randy Moss this offseason should only help Pryor, as he looks to become a reliable target in Washington for Kirk Cousins. He offers a ton of upside in fantasy drafts this summer.

Browns rookie RB Matthew Dayes “has caught [head coach Hue] Jackson’s attention.”
Dayes had a couple good runs in the Browns padded practice yesterday. Jackson believes Dayes is motivated after being drafted late in the seventh round, saying: “I think he’s disappointed in that way that he didn’t get picked earlier, but he is demonstrating out here on the field the talent that he has. He has had a great camp so far.” Incumbent starter Isaiah Crowell is currently in a contract year, and Dayes is someone to watch as a determined young back.

Chargers rookie receiver Mike Williams says “everything’s good” with his back.
Williams said the report of him potentially needing season-ending back surgery is “false information.” ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who normally is accurate with his info, reported that Williams might not be able to play this season; but NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported after that surgery is “not on the table” for Williams. He won’t practice at the start of training camp, but it sounds like the seventh overall pick in the draft should be able to hit the field at some point.

There is “no structural damage” for Ryan Tannehill’s knee, according to Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network.
This is obviously great news for the Dolphins quarterback, who had a scare this morning when he went down with a non-contact injury in practice. The team can now breathe a little bit, as he probably only dealing with a hyperextension and should be fine within a matter of weeks, if that. The big concern is preventing something like this from happening again, as his knee did buckle on the sideline without contact. Tannehill has been wearing a knee brace on his previously injured left knee from last season’s partially torn ACL, so we’ll see if they test different braces—or maybe he’ll try to go without a brace (he did say before this scare that he feels 100%, so it could be a possibility).

Carson Palmer will not play in the Hall of Fame Game.
Head coach Bruce Arians announced that his quarterback and receiver Larry Fitzgerald won’t be playing in the game, but that they’ll get their reps in the other preseason games. Arizona has been attempting to keep Carson Palmer fresh by limiting his workload, and it’s apparently working—running back David Johnson had to get stitches in his pinkie because Palmer is throwing the ball so hard. As long as he stays on point mentally and with his accuracy, the rest might do good for the 37-year-old. While Palmer and Fitzgerald won’t play at all, the rest of the starters aren’t likely to play much in the Hall of Fame Game on August 3 either.

Eric Ebron left the first Lions practice with an injury.
Head coach Jim Caldwell said he thinks it was a tweaked hamstring, according to ESPN. Ebron has dealt with injuries throughout his first three seasons in the league, and staying healthy will obviously be a big factor in whether he can ascend as a top tight end in the league.

49ers receiver Jeremy Kerley is very impressed with teammate Marquise Goodwin.
Kerley was on “NFL Total Access” and thinks Goodwin will have a breakout season, saying: “He’s got a lot of passion in the game and he puts in a lot of work at it. So he’s definitely a guy that I think everyone could look forward to and he’ll have a takeoff season.” Kerley also said people only see Goodwin as a deep threat because of his speed; but from what he’s seen through the offseason, Kerley believes Goodwin is “an all-around receiver and he knows what he’s doing” Goodwin played for seasons with the Bills and had 49 receptions, but the track speed receiver is expected to have a bigger role in Kyle Shanahan’s offense with the Niners. Goodwin should easily have the best season of his career in 2017 if he stays healthy.
