Join now >Darren Sproles gives thoughts on Eagles RB situation to Josina Anderson.
Sproles told Anderson that five players (him, LeGarrette Blount, Ryan Mathews, Donnel Pumphrey, and Wendell Smallwood) can share the load and everyone has to "know [their] role." The quick running back said Blount and Mathews are more of early-down pounders, he's a receiving back and third-down guy, the rookie Pumphrey lining up in the slot (which he's done so far in spring training), and Smallwood doing it all. This could just be Sproles speculating what he thinks might happen; especially because Ryan Mathews is expected to be released when he's recovered from his neck injury, while undrafted rookie Corey Clement was left off the list but is a talented guy that might make the team. Blount is the back that will have the most value in standard leagues, and Sproles should be the most valuable of the bunch in PPR.

Jeremy Maclin said on "Know Them From Adam" that he tore his groin last season.
Maclin told Adam Schefter that he played through the injury when asked about people that say he lost a step. The former Chief missed four games last season, but came back and tried to play through it at the end of the year and in the playoffs. Maclin originally injured his groin in Week 8 against the Colts, then tried to play the next week against the Jaguars and promptly left the game in the first quarter, missing the next four games after that. So really, Maclin missed about five and a half games last season. That's in the past, however, as Maclin is on a new team and 100%. The Ravens are missing a lot of targets from last season, and Maclin figures to get a good amount of them.

The Eagles cut receiver Dorial Green-Beckham.
Green-Beckham was a 2015 second round pick of the Titans with immense talent that hasn't put it together yet. The Titans traded him to the Eagles last summer for offensive tackle Dennis Kelly, a deal that clearly didn't work out for Philadelphia. It was obvious the Titans were trading him for a reason last year, and now the Eagles are moving on from the talented receiver. Another team will give DGB a chance to make their roster, but he needs to get it together and start working extremely hard if he wants to go on to have a great career.

Bilal Powell says the new Jets offense puts the running backs in a lot of different places.
John Morton is the Jets' new offensive coordinator and he brings West Coast concepts to the team. Powell told Jets reporter Eric Allen that running backs are put in a good spot in the new offense. The Jets might rely on their running backs in the run game more this season, and they have both Powell and Matt Forte in the mix. They both should have some fantasy value, with whoever the lead back is likely set to be an RB2. As of now, Powell is probably the better bet to get more touches.

The Panthers will use rookie Curtis Samuel “mainly” as a slot receiver.
Max Henson of panthers.com says the the former Ohio State Buckeye will play mainly in the slot, but could be moved around the offense—including to the backfield to get the ball in his hands. The second round pick will likely be in three receiver sets, with Kelvin Benjmain and Devin Funchess starting on the outside. Samuel is a dynamic player that should be a key in helping turn around the Panthers after their down 2016. He could deliver some fantasy value as a rookie.

Giants receiver Sterling Shepard wants to improve his YAC this season.
The second-year receiver focused on and is working on improving his ability with the ball in his hands. Shepard also said he’s more comfortable heading into his second NFL season and expects to improve, comparing it to his first/second years in high school in college. With the addition of Brandon Marshall, Shepard isn’t likely to see an uptick in targets this season. While he probably won’t be a reliable fantasy option, Shepard should be an integral part of the Giants’ offense this year.

Giants.com writer John Schmeelk believes Paul Perkins will make a “huge jump in production” this season.
Schmeelk “would be surprised” if Perkins did not rush for over 1,000 yards and at least five touchdowns as the lead back in the Giants offense. Fellow writer Lance Medow also believes that Perkins will be the clear number one back and make a big jump in his second season. The talk from the spring has been that Perkins will be a three-down back, which would be great for his fantasy value. Rookie Wayne Gallman might be able to force his way onto the field more than anticipated, but Perkins is looking like a solid RB2 as of now.
