The Redskins head coach said Grant is the most consistent in terms of "as a far as being able to lineup everywhere, run the routes exactly how we want them at the right depth coming out of them." Grant has been working as a starting receiver over last year's first round pick Josh Doctson and has drawn good reviews this offseason. He might not hold off Doctson for the starting role, but it's clear Grant will be used more this season after he had only nine receptions in 2016.

Rookie receiver Chad Hansen won't participate in Jets minicamp.
Hansen has a sore knee, but is expected to be ready for training camp, according to head coach Todd Bowles. The former Cal deep threat has a chance to be a top three receiver for the Jets as a rookie, as Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall are both off the team.

Jets rookie receiver ArDarius Stewart had both groin and thumb surgery.
Stewart was already ruled out for minicamp because of the groin injury, but head coach Todd Bowles just announced he had surgery for that and his thumb. The rookie receiver is expected to be good for training camp. He has the opportunity to carve out a large role in the offense. While Stewart is falling behind with this missed time, so is fellow rookie receiver Chad Hansen, who is also out until training camp with a sore knee.

Free agent receiver Eric Decker took a physical with the Titans, head coach Mike Mularkey said.
The team is probably checking out Decker's shoulder after he had season-ending shoulder surgery on it last year. If the shoulder OK (which it reportedly is), Decker could be signing with the Titans any minute now.

Jordan Howard said he’s “definitely trying to be the No. 1 rusher” in the NFL.
Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi said something similar at his minicamp. According to the Chicago Tribune, Howard wants to drop ten pounds and get to 225. Dropping weight for running backs is almost always a good idea, as it makes them quicker. LeSean McCoy is a great example of cutting weight being a benefit, while Eddie Lacy has struggled to stay healthy as he gained weight compared to earlier in his career. Howard was OK as a receiver out of the backfield as a rookie, and he “expects” a bigger role in the passing game this season. He had eye surgery in the offseason to improve his vision, and that should really help improve his pass catching ability. Howard will be a workhorse-type back this season, and he’s a great standard league selection early in fantasy drafts.

Free agent receiver Eric Decker is meeting with the Titans, according to Kenneth Nixon.
Nixon is probably a friend of Decker or Jessie James (Decker's wife). This was confirmed by Adam Schefter. The Titans upgraded the receiving corps in the draft when they added Corey Davis with the fifth overall pick and Taywan Taylor in the third round, but they're apparently still looking to upgrade the supporting cast for young quarterback Marcus Mariota. Tennessee likely appeals to Decker and his family because his wife, Jessie James Decker, is a country singer and Nashville is the number one destination for country music. Things could come together quickly if the meeting goes well.

Redskins running back Matt Jones' agent asked for his release from the team, according to the Associated Press.
Jones' agent, Hadley Englehard, told the AP that they have "asked very politely" for the team to release Jones. The former starting running back reported to the team yesterday for minicamp, but reportedly got only two reps with the second and third teams. It's clear the Redskins don't have any plans to use Jones, and the right thing to do for the big back would be to release him and let him compete for solid playing time with another team. But Washington must be looking for a trade or keeping him on the roster for depth purposes, and Jones is not happy about it. Maybe the request for a release will change things.
