Join now >The Giants are very happy with second-year running back Paul Perkins.
RB coach Craig Johnson said he showed as a rookie that he can run and catch out of the backfield, but that this spring he's shown he can protect the quarterback "held up very good in protection" when they tested him so far. Head coach Ben McAdoo already made it clear earlier in the offseason that Perkins is the clear starter, and is looks like that's going to be the case this season. Coach Johnson did admit "it's still a long way from today to the opening game," but that Perkins is showing he can handle the lead role. Perkins looks like he'll be at least a solid RB2/FLEX to start the season.

Schefter: Kirk Cousins contract talks with Redskins "taking encouraging tone."
Last season, Schefter says the two sides were "never close" to a deal, but he says there have been positive talks over the past several months. While a deal might not get done before the July 15 deadline, something could get done after the season, Schefter reports. Schefter also says Cousins' agent Mike McCartney and Redskins president Bruce Allen had their first face-to-face meeting since Cousins was first franchise tagged last year. The 49ers' heavy interest looms in 2018, but it looks like there's more of a chance Cousins remains in Washington than it seemed months ago.

Mike Reiss believes the Patriots will limit Dion Lewis' snaps.
Reiss notes that Lewis still has quickness and explosiveness that stood out, but that the Patriots—who are very deep at running back—might limit his playing time so he's a player that's "carefully managed." Lewis should remain a key member of the Patriots, but he isn't likely to be a consistent fantasy option with so many good players in New England's backfield.

Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter says rookie receiver Chris Godwin is "off to a fast start" at Bucs' OTAs.
Koetter said Godwin had a couple mental mistakes, but "the physical stuff is there for sure." Godwin surprisingly wasn't selected until the 84th pick in the draft, but he has a lot of ability and showed it at Penn State. He should get some playing time as a rookie, despite the talented Buccaneers receiving corps that includes Mike Evans and new free agent addition DeSean Jackson. Godwin is a great hold in dynasty leagues.

Adam Schefter reports the Jets don't plan on releasing Eric Decker today.
Schefter says the Jets are "still hoping" to be able to get something for Decker in a trade. Multiple teams would obviously like to have Decker, but the Jets don't have much leverage in a trade. Unless a team really doesn't want to risk another team being able to sign him before them when Decker becomes free, the Jets probably won't find a trade partner. It can be safely assumed that Decker would rather get outright released to be able to sign wherever he wants.

The Rams have liked what they've seen from second-year receiver Mike Thomas.
Head coach Sean McVay says Thomas "has been a joy to be around so far" and that he's someone that can stretch the defense. The former Southern Miss receiver is feeling more confident and has adapted in his second season, saying he now knows what to expect and how to do things. The Rams made an effort to add receivers this offseason, but Thomas has a chance to carve out a role in his second season.

Sheil Kapadia thinks C.J. Prosise could catch 60 passes if he's healthy this season.
Kapadia notes the Seahawks had 75 receptions from their backs last season, and Prosise is the clear passing down back for the team. Of course, Prosise needs to stay healthy. Kapadia says the coaches "love Prosise but have questioned his durability." Kapadia expects six carries per game for Prosise as well. If he does stay healthy, Prosise should be a nice asset in PPR leagues. He might actually be the safest of all Seattle backs, with a clear role in the passing game.
