Daniel Helm | Free Agent TE

The 49ers waived Daniel Helm.

If he goes unclaimed, Helm is a candidate to land on the Niners practice squad or back on the 53-man roster soon, but he’s off the fantasy radar for now.

MyCole Pruitt | Steelers TE

The Titans have activated MyCole Pruitt from the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Pruitt comes back as Tennessee continues to get past their issues with the virus, and he could immediately have an offensive role with Jonnu Smith (ankle) banged up. That said, the veteran isn’t currently a recommended fantasy option.

Christian McCaffrey | 49ers RB

Christian McCaffrey (ankle) isn’t expected to play in Week 7, according to NFL Network.

Carolina seems to be waiting until their superstar back is 100% recovered from his high-ankle sprain, which would be a good thing for fantasy owners counting on him immediately being a top-three RB1 upon his return. The Panthers face the Falcons next Thursday night, so they could be aiming for that NFC South clash to have McCaffrey back rather than having him play twice in five days. Mike Davis will draw another start this week against the Saints and should be in all fantasy lineups.

Sterling Shepard | Buccaneers WR

The Giants activated Sterling Shepard’s practice window.

Shepard now has 21 days to practice before he must be activated off injured reserve (or spend the year on IR). The hope is that Shepard will be activated for Thursday night’s game versus the Eagles, but we’ll see if it happens on a short week. Shepard likely won’t get an injury designation, as he might not be officially activated off injured reserve before the final Week 7 injury report is released tomorrow.

Tua Tagovailoa | Dolphins QB

The Dolphins have named Tua Tagovailoa their starting quarterback, according to ESPN.

With the Dolphins at 3-3 and Ryan Fitzpatrick playing pretty well, this is a bit of a shocker. But Miami apparently feels Tua can take the team to the next level, and the third overall pick will be the starter when the team returns from its Week 7 bye. Tagovailoa’s first career start will be a tough matchup against the Rams, but it’ll be exciting to see the former Alabama gunslinger on the field.

Blake Bortles | Retired QB

The Broncos re-signed Blake Bortles to the practice squad.

Bortles was recently released, but he’s back in Denver as depth behind Drew Lock and company.

Raheem Mostert | Raiders RB

Raheem Mostert has a high-ankle sprain.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan says that Mostert is expected to miss time and will likely go on injured reserve. Mostert has looked very good this season, but he’s unfortunately had trouble staying healthy. JaMycal Hasty flashed some when Mostert went down last night, and San Francisco may go with a committee approach with Jerick McKinnon, Jeff Wilson Jr., and Hasty while Mostert is out.
