NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says the Colts intend to bring Vollert back on the practice squad if he clears waivers—hopefully Vollert took the decision well after he showed fire when the Chargers cut him earlier this summer as shown on HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’.

The Seahawks are waiving Stephen Sullivan.
Seattle might have the deepest tight end group in the league, so it was going to be difficult for the seventh-round pick to crack the 53-man roster, especially in this COVID-impacted summer. The Seahawks will likely try to get Sullivan through waivers and onto the practice squad.

The Titans are waiving Jeremy McNichols, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
McNichols recently signed in Tennessee, and he will be a candidate to stick around on the practice squad. Derrick Henry is fully expected to be given a monster workload—including expanded work in the passing game—this season.

The Chiefs have released DeAndre Washington, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
Washington—who played with Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech—was hoping to make the team and be the No. 2 back behind Clyde Edwards-Helaire, but Kansas City is going with incumbents Darrel Williams and Darwin Thompson. This news should lock in Darrel Williams as a high-upside handcuff and great flier in the final rounds of fantasy drafts.

The Packers released Malik Turner.
Turner joined Green Bay earlier this summer, but he will not make the initial 53-man roster. Turner could land on the Packers practice squad if no other team picks him up.

The Texans are signing C.J. Prosise to the practice squad, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Houston is an interesting fit for the former Seahawk, as he will essentially be insurance for David Johnson and Duke Johnson as another capable receiving back. Prosise handled 33 offensive touches last year in Seattle.

The Patriots have released Lamar Miller, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
There was some hope that Miller would be able to not only make the team, but also have a decent role with Sony Michel banged up at the start of camp, but the starter is now healthy, and New England remains deep at running back. The veteran will look to land elsewhere, though there are already some notable options on the open market—including Adrian Peterson and Devonta Freeman.
