Todd Gurley is signing with the Falcons, according to ESPN’s Jordan Schultz.

Gurley went to college at the University of Georgia, and the dots were easy to connect—but it’s a bit of a surprise the signing is happening so quickly after Gurley was released not even 24 hours ago. That said, it’s a major get for the Falcons. The former NFL Offensive Player of the Year and two-time All-Pro running back is reportedly signing a one-year deal, so this will be a “prove-it” type of contract where Gurley will look to stay healthy and do serious damage in Atlanta before potentially cashing in with another long-term deal next offseason. The Falcons have an offense headlined by former league MVP Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, and now Gurley, so they have as much talent as anyone at the skill positions. Gurley is just 25 years old, and we won’t be surprised if he has a monster season in 2020—he was probably released by the Rams because of his huge contract more than anything.

The Browns are signing JoJo Natson, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Natson was released ahead of the start of the new league year, and he finds a landing spot in Cleveland. Natson will likely mostly contribute on special teams, but he’ll look to work his way into a role on offense, too.

The Vikings re-signed Sean Mannion.

Mannion will continue backing up Kirk Cousins in 2020, but he’s not a recommended hold in dynasty leagues.

The Giants are signing Colt McCoy, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

McCoy has made 28 career starts in the NFL, so he’ll be a good asset for second-year quarterback Daniel Jones to lean on this season. McCoy spent the previous five seasons with the Redskins, so he’ll move up the coast to another NFC East squad.

The Rams have released Todd Gurley.

Gurley’s 2020 base salary of $5.5 million was set to become guaranteed today at 4 PM ET, so Los Angeles made the decision to move on while taking a big cap hit. The star running back’s knee and usage became an issue over the past couple of seasons, but the former NFL Offensive Player of the Year was just named an All-Pro in consecutive seasons in 2017 and 2018, and it’s surprising that he’s gone after signing a huge contract with the Rams a couple of years ago. Gurley’s time with LA, who selected him tenth overall in the 2015 draft, ends with 5,404 rushing yards, 58 rushing touchdowns, 2,090 receiving yards, and 12 receiving touchdowns. He’ll now get a chance to sign elsewhere as a clear starter, and being on the open market should provide a buy-low opportunity for dynasty owners.

Keith Kirkwood is signing with the Panthers.

Kirkwood is familiar with new Panthers head coach Matt Rhule from his time at Temple, so this is a good fit. There’s a chance the former Saints receiver carves out a role as a starter along with D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel in Joe Brady’s offense this season.

The Broncos are waiving Joe Flacco.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Denver is waiving Flacco with a failed physical designation. Flacco is fully expected to clear waivers, and then he’ll become an unrestricted free agent. The former Super Bowl MVP might have to settle for a backup role for 2020, but perhaps the Patriots will take a look at the veteran quarterback after losing Tom Brady. In his lone season with the Broncos, Flacco was placed on injured reserve because of a neck issue.
