Join now >The Eagles are re-signing Boston Scott.
Scott will get a one-year deal worth up to $2.25 million, and he’ll try to again work his way into snaps behind Miles Sanders this season. That being said, the limited guarantee ($1.1 million) and depth of the running back class for a potential early-down option to join the Philly backfield could dim Scott’s outlook for 2022.

The Steelers are signing Gunner Olszewski.
This is a tough loss for the Patriots (though they declined to tender him as a restricted free agent), as they’ll lose an excellent returner and special-teams player. Pittsburgh just lost JuJu Smith-Schuster in free agency to the Chiefs, and we’ll see if Olszewski can win a bigger role on offense in 2022. It’s a two-year deal for the former undrafted player.

JuJu Smith-Schuster is signing with the Chiefs.
Smith-Schuster nearly joined Kansas City last offseason, but now it’s happening with the former USC standout agreeing to a one-year, $10.75-million deal. As the clear No. 2 wideout in a high-powered offense, this is great news for the outlook for Smith-Schuster, and if he ends up signing a long-term deal there after this year’s trial, it would be a huge boost to JuJu’s dynasty stock in particular. Patrick Mahomes will now have another security blanket to work the middle of the field along with Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill will obviously continue to stretch the field with Mecole Hardman on the perimeter. Wide receiver remains loaded, but Smith-Schuster should at least be an upside WR3 in 2022.

Austin Hooper is signing with the Titans, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Hooper will get a one-year, $6-million deal following his release from the Browns, and it’s a match that many immediately brought up when the former Stanford standout became available. Tennessee still has more work to do to build the receiving corps behind A.J. Brown, but Hooper is a very reliable target at tight end. The position has seemed to get slightly stronger every year, but Hooper will have a case for top-15 value in a play-action heavy attack centered around Derrick Henry.

Deshaun Watson is being traded to the Browns.
Watson has informed Houston that he will waive his no-trade clause for Cleveland in a stunning move after they were said to be out of the running, and a big reason is likely the Browns giving him the largest contract in NFL history in terms of guaranteed money ($150 million) on a five-year, $230-million contract. While the Saints and Falcons were thought to be the finalists, Cleveland is getting a new franchise quarterback to match up with Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson in the NFC North. It’s unclear what compensation will be going back to Houston, but it will surely be a massive package, and we’d predict rising star linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah will be involved along with three first-round picks (plus more). The Browns will at least get something back when they eventually trade Baker Mayfield—assuming he’s not involved in the Watson trade—and they now have a no-doubt franchise quarterback.

The Panthers signed D.J. Moore to a new four-year contract.
Moore has been a very consistent yearly performer through his first four years in the league, hitting 1,100 receiving yards in each of the past three seasons. Moore will turn just 25 years old next month, and this is a three-year extension that’ll help him be able to potentially hit free agency at 28 years old. From a fantasy perspective, one of the big knocks for Moore is that he’s struggled to find the end zone compared to some top receivers, as he has four touchdown receptions in each of the past three years.

The Dolphins are re-signing Durham Smythe to a two-year deal, according to Mike Gesicki.
The franchise-tagged tight end made it clear that he is the source of this news, and Smythe will be back in Miami as depth behind Gesicki for Mike McDaniel’s new-look offense. Last season, the Notre Dame product quietly caught a career-high 34 passes for 357 yards, and the Dolphins have put a deeper overall group together so far this offseason.
