Join now >The Saints are set to start Taysom Hill in Week 13.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Hill has been getting first-team reps in practice ahead of Thursday night against the Cowboys. This move is not surprising at all, as Hill is now healthier from his foot issue, and the Saints probably want to see what they have in him over the final several games—while also hoping to get a jumpstart on offense after slow starts over the past few weeks. Trevor Siemian will slide into the No. 2 quarterback role behind Hill.

The Panthers placed Christian McCaffrey (ankle) on injured reserve.
This is McCaffrey’s second time landing on injured reserve, so his season is shockingly now over. McCaffrey was injured in yesterday’s loss to the Dolphins and was in a walking boot after the game, but no one really expected this would be a season-ender with five games remaining in the regular season (and the playoffs still a possibility for the Panthers). McCaffrey’s season ends after just seven games. He ends with 99 carries for 442 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown along with 37 receptions for 343 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. It has been a very difficult past two seasons for McCaffrey, who has been unable to stay healthy. The superstar running back will turn just 26 this summer, and hopefully he has more injury luck moving forward. As the consensus No. 1 fantasy pick the past two years, McCaffrey might become a value selection in 2022 fantasy drafts.

Dalvin Cook is dealing with a torn labrum, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The MRI revealed the extent of the injury, and while not season-ending, Cook will miss time—potentially a few games. In similar circumstances a couple of years ago, Cook missed two games in the regular season before returning (and being very effective) in the playoffs, so how Minnesota fares without their star runner could determine how much time he misses. Alexander Mattison obviously needs to be rostered in all leagues as a top-15 option for as long as he’s the starter, and Cook might not be a bad buy-low option for anyone looking ahead to the fantasy playoffs with the hopes he can at least return for the championship.

Dan Arnold is out four-to-six weeks, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Arnold is dealing with a sprained MCL, so the timing of the injury could knock him out for the rest of the season. That said, it’s probably good news that it’s not a more long-term issue, and hopefully we see Arnold again before Jacksonville turns their attention to 2022. The team will rely on James O’Shaughnessy and others to step up in place of Arnold—who has caught 28 passes for 324 yards in seven games with the Jaguars since being traded from Carolina.

Deebo Samuel (groin) is officially questionable to return for the 49ers.
Samuel was down on the field for a while and then limped over to the sideline. He now has his helmet off and does not look like he’ll be returning to today’s game. Before leaving the Week 12 game versus the Vikings, Samuel had one reception for 12 yards and six carries for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Samuel became the first wide receiver in the Super Bowl era to rush for five touchdowns in a season, as he’s been a huge weapon there for San Francisco this year.

Marquise Brown (thigh) is officially active for Sunday night.
Brown is back after missing one game with his thigh issue, and he has big upside for the Week 12 matchup against the Browns.

Dalvin Cook gets carted off against the 49ers.
Cook just lost a fumble and was also twisted up awkwardly on a carry late in the third quarter. It’s unclear what exactly was injured, but Cook was in obvious pain and was down on the field for a while before getting carted off. Cook’s Week 12 ends with ten carries for 39 yards and six receptions for 64 yards.
