The Chargers are waiving Detrez Newsome.

ESPN’s Eric Williams says Newsome is expected to be on the practice squad if he clears waivers, so his status should be known sometime tomorrow.

Maurice Harris reverted to the Patriots’ injured reserve.

Harris went unclaimed on waivers, so he’s on New England’s injured reserve after he was waived/injured. The former Redskins receiver might eventually come to an injury settlement and get an opportunity to sign with another team, but he’s off the fantasy draft radar for now.

The Jaguars have claimed Tyler Ervin.

Ervin should have a chance to be the team’s primary returner, but it would be a surprise if he earned a significant offensive role behind Leonard Fournette.

The Giants placed Rod Smith (adductor) I’m injured reserve.

Perhaps an injury settlement can be reached at some point so the former Cowboy can sign elsewhere, but he’s off the fantasy radar at the moment.

The Colts placed D’Onta Foreman on injured reserve.

Foreman has had a tough beginning of his NFL career, as he struggled with the torn Achilles suffered during his rookie season and took a while to recover into last year, and now his third season could be over. Perhaps Foreman will be a designated-to-return player (which is probably unlikely) or will come to an injury settlement with the Colts, but he’s way off the redraft fantasy radar at the moment.

The Browns claimed Ricky Seals-Jones.

Seals-Jones was cut by Arizona yesterday, but the athletic tight end is just 24 years old and could help contribute in the red zone in particular for the Cardinals. RSJ might soon become the primary backup to David Njoku.

Devante Mays (ankle) has been ruled out for the rest of tonight’s preseason game.

Mays was initially called questionable to return, but he’s now been ruled out for the rest of the night. Hopefully Mays’ injury isn’t a long-term thing, but he’s probably on the roster bubble in Jacksonville.
