The Saints released Cameron Meredith.

Coming off a very serious knee injury suffered nearly two years ago, Meredith couldn’t quite recover fully and get back to his normal self to make a big impact in New Orleans. It’s been really unfortunate for Meredith after he was emerging as an excellent starting receiver with the Bears, but hopefully he’s able to find success on a new team another year removed from his 2017 knee injury. For now, Meredith doesn’t need to be rostered in dynasty leagues, but we’ll see what happens in the coming days or weeks.

Robert Griffin III could miss up to eight weeks due to his fractured thumb, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

It was recently reported that the Ravens were optimistic that the fracture would have him back for the regular season, but Schefter’s four-to-eight-week timetable makes it sound uncertain. Baltimore will likely sign a veteran—if only for the summer—to join a quarterback room that currently has Lamar Jackson and Trace McSorley as the only healthy options.

The Buccaneers have signed tight end Troy Niklas.

Niklas was released by the Patriots last July and didn’t land with another team during 2018, but he’s back in the league with new Bucs head coach Bruce Arians. Niklas spent each of his four seasons in Arizona with Arians to start his career, so he has familiarity with his offense. However, the former second-round pick isn’t on the fantasy radar at the moment, with O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate currently ahead of him on the depth chart in Tampa Bay.

The Dolphins have placed Dwayne Allen on the PUP list.

Allen isn’t cleared to practice yet, but he can be taken off the PUP at any time. The veteran tight end is a great presence for a franchise looking to build something with new head coach Brian Flores, who was with Allen in New England.

The Raiders waived Erik Swoope.

This is a slight surprise considering the wide-open tight end depth chart for Oakland, but the move created roster space for the Raiders to make another signing. Swoope shouldn’t have much trouble finding a new team.

Robert Griffin III has a small fracture in his thumb, according to Jeff Zrebiec.

The former No. 2 overall pick is expected to be back for the regular season, and he will surely be around the team to help Lamar Jackson heading into his second year. In the meantime, sixth-round pick Trace McSorley will get a chance to impress as the backup, but the Ravens will almost certainly add another quarterback in the very near future.

Cooper Kupp will not be placed on the PUP list when training camp begins.

Kupp has been cleared from last season’s ACL tear, which is great news as the Rams begin training camp later this week. The third-year receiver will undoubtedly be worked back slowly, but his Week 1 status is currently in zero doubt. Being cleared at the start of camp could also mean we see Kupp get a decent amount of playing time during the preseason, but either way, he should be a high-floor option in the earlier rounds of fantasy drafts late this summer. Kupp was on pace for nearly 1,300 yards last season if you take out the Broncos game he left early and had zero yards in when he initially injured his knee.
