Demaryius Thomas | Retired WR

Demaryius Thomas (Achilles) is on the PUP list to start training camp.

This was obviously expected after Thomas just tore his Achilles late last December. Thomas is probably no lock to make the final roster for the Patriots this season, so ideally he’ll get off the field soon as he looks to win a roster spot—and potentially a sizable role catching passes from Tom Brady—in New England.

Jamison Crowder | Free Agent WR

Jamison Crowder will undergo an MRI on his foot.

Crowder was injured and had to leave practice earlier today. Losing a starting slot receiver for any amount of time while Adam Gase installs his offense with quarterback Sam Darnold and the Jets won’t be ideal, but hopefully Crowder doesn’t miss much time. We’ll update you as more information becomes available.

Darrin Hall | Packers RB

The Packers claimed Darrin Hall.

The undrafted rookie from Pitt was waived by the Bengals yesterday. Green Bay has a crowded running back room, so Hall would do well to carve out a roster spot. The practice squad might be the most likely scenario for this season, though.

Ryquell Armstead | Free Agent RB

The Jaguars places Ryquell Armstead on the PUP list.

The hope was that Armstead would be full strength for the start of training camp, but his hamstring seemingly isn’t where the team needs it to be. The rookie running back will look to get cleared soon as he gets set to compete for the primary backup role behind Leonard Fournette.

DeAndre Hopkins | Ravens WR

The Texans have placed DeAndre Hopkins on the PUP list, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

Hopkins was rehabbing his shoulder and foot during offseason training, and this is probably just precautionary more than anything. The All-Pro receiver can be taken off the PUP at any time, and it should be sooner than later.

Lamar Jackson | Ravens QB

John Harbaugh: “Take the over” on Lamar Jackson rushing 139 times this season.

The Ravens head coach spoke to Aditi Kinkhabwala and former Ravens head coach Brian Billick of NFL Network, and Billick said the Panthers quarterback Cam Newton’s career-high in rush attempts for a season is 139. According to Kinkhabwala, without hesitation Harbaugh said to “take the over” on that number. Last season in just seven starts (along with mixing in for certain packages while Joe Flacco was starting), Jackson rushed 147 times, so this isn’t a huge surprise. However, the fact that Harbaugh said to take the over without hesitation indicates that Baltimore doesn’t have any issue with their starting quarterback running as much as possible if that’s what it takes to win games. At this point, it’d be a surprise if Jackson doesn’t average at least ten carries per game, which would give him an obvious boost in fantasy football. Also keep in mind that the Ravens added former Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley, who also has solid running ability, and have Robert Griffin III as the backup quarterback; this offense might use the quarterback in the run game more than any offense in quite a while, and they have the depth for a next-man-up approach to keep things going if someone goes down with an injury.

A.J. Green | Retired WR

A.J. Green is believed to have suffered an ankle sprain, according to Ian Rapoport.

There will be an MRI to confirm. It’s unclear whether or not the injury is a high-ankle sprain, but either way, this is promising news after the star receiver was carted off at practice, and he should be ready for the opener. Green may now be discounted in fantasy drafts, but anything past the fourth round would make him an absolute bargain.
