Join now >Golden Tate is facing a four-game suspension, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Tate violated the NFL’s PED policy, but Schefter says the veteran “believes he has a legitimate case” to win his appeal and get the suspension overturned. This is pretty stunning for the Giants, as they already lost Corey Coleman for the season with a torn ACL, while Sterling Shepard is dealing with a fractured thumb that could put his Week 1 status in jeopardy. A decision on Tate’s appeal will be made in the coming days or weeks, certainly before Week 1. Players like Cody Latimer, Bennie Fowler, and Darius Slayton must step up for the Giants for now, but a trade or veteran signing should be likely.

Sean McVay says Todd Gurley (knee) is “ready to go.”
The Rams head coach appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and was asked about his star running back, and he said he’s “good,” adding: “I think he’s feeling great. I think, you know, one of the things about Todd is (he’s a) great competitor. I think he’s earned the right to be able to have the plant that we had this offseason. Can’t wait to get him back going. I know he’s ready to go and it’s going to be fun for the Rams this year.” A late night show wouldn’t be the time to say that one of your players isn’t healthy, but McVay could’ve also just said “we’ll see” about Gurley. Despite major concerns in the media about Gurley’s knee, it’s been all positive from the team and player regarding the knee issue. Again, training camp should hopefully give a good idea of where Gurley stands in 2019 ahead of most people holding their fantasy drafts late this summer.

The Packers signed Corey Grant.
It’s surprising that it took Grant this long to find a team, but he should be 100% recovered from last season’s Lisfranc injury, and he’s a strong addition to Green Bay’s backfield. Grant is an explosive player that made the most of his opportunities on offense with the Jaguars in his first four NFL seasons, and he’s also an excellent special teams contributor. Grant isn’t on the fantasy radar quite yet, but he’s someone to keep in mind.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says Marquise Brown (foot) should be ready “in a few weeks.”
Rapoport tweets that he’s been told “Hollywood Brown is progressing well and should be back on the field in a few weeks.” After the Ravens were hoping Brown would be good to go at the start of training camp, hearing a few weeks as a timetable for his summer debut is an obvious concern. A foot injury is already a concern for a guy that relies on track-star speed like Brown, and it’s bad news that he apparently isn’t progressing as well as everyone hoped. The more time Brown misses, the less likely it is that he’s able to make a big fantasy impact as a rookie this season.

Sony Michel (knee) is practicing today.
Michel is being taken off the PUP list after missing just two days of practice, which is a great sign for the second-year player. Coming off one of the greatest postseasons in NFL history for a running back, Michel should be locked in as New England’s clear top runner despite the presence of third-round pick Damien Harris. Health and a lack of involvement in the passing game are the lone concerns with Michel in fantasy.

The Ravens placed Marqise Brown (foot) on the reserve/non-football injury list.
Baltimore hoped their speedy first-round rookie receiver would be ready to go for the start of camp, but they’ll have to wait. This isn’t a good sign for “Hollywood” Brown, but he can be taken off the NFI list at any time. Hopefully he’s ready to go within the first week of camp as he looks to get acclimated to his new offense—we’ll keep you updated.

Corey Coleman suffered a torn ACL.
The Giants just announced that Coleman suffered the torn ACL in yesterday’s practice. This is just terrible news for the 2015 first-round pick of the Browns, especially because he had an opportunity to potentially carve out a starting role alongside Sterling Shepard and Golden Tate with the Giants. The Baylor product will turn just 27 next July, but this is a tough obstacle for him to overcome as he looks to make a big impact in the NFL. We wish Coleman the best of luck on his recover and hope to see him contributing to a team in 2020. For the Giants, they’re now dealing with injuries to Coleman and Shepard (fractured thumb), so don’t be surprised if they’re in the market for a wide receiver soon.
