The trainer, Travelle Gaines, stressed to CBS Sports that Gurley will be ready for the 2019 season, and he alludes to the knee issues dating back to his torn ACL suffered at Georgia. Gaines also said he hasn’t been told of any plans to change Gurley’s workload, and they are working this offseason to keep him healthy down the stretch (he specifically says “Weeks 14 through 17,” which fantasy owners should take note of). The health of Gurley will be one of the biggest mysteries heading into the 2019 season, but even if he handles just 18-20 touches per week, he could be an absolute bargain in the second round of fantasy drafts.

Aaron Rodgers is hoping to have a lot of freedom at the line of scrimmage this season.
Rodgers has obviously had a ton of freedom in Mike McCarthy’s offense after 11 years in it, but the transition to new head coach Matt LaFleur’s offense is likely to lead to less change pre-snap. LaFluer’s offense is similar to Kyle Shanahan’s, in that a lot of pre-snap motion and movement is utilized, which leads to less time for the quarterback to make adjustments—LaFleur told NFL.com’s Mike Silver that giving the quarterback freedom to change plays is “not really the way the offense is set up.” LaFleur did add that Rodgers has had freedom to make calls at the line of scrimmage, so they are trying to find a happy medium for their offense. Rodgers himself told Silver, “I don’t think you want to ask me to turn off 11 year (of recognizing defenses),” adding that he can do things only a few other quarterbacks (he named Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Ben Roethlisberger) are able to do. Rodgers should play well regardless of his freedom to make changes pre-snap, but the start of this quarterback-coach relationship is something to keep in mind in 2019.

Jared Goff is looking to “master” Sean McVay’s offense this year.
Entering his fourth NFL season and his third season in McVay’s offense, Goff is looking and feeling extremely comfortable this offseason. The Rams head coach says you can see the difference in his quarterback’s confidence each year, adding, “you can’t say enough just [how much he is an] extension of the coaching staff.” Rams passing game coordinator Shane Waldron said: “The first year, he’s really learning it, last year, he had a great ownership of it, and now it’s time to really master the system as a whole, and he’s done a great job of that.” Goff himself says he naturally feels more comfortable because he continues to get more reps, and you keep getting better at anything when you keep doing it. Leading a high-powered attack with near-mastery of the offensive system, Goff probably has no business going outside the top-ten quarterbacks in 2019 fantasy drafts; but for some reason, he’s mostly thought of as a fringe QB1 at the moment.

The Packers have cut Kapri Bibbs, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
Getting released now gives Bibbs time to find another team ahead of training camp this summer. Bibbs can do damage as a receiver out of the backfield and as a contributor on special teams, so there’ll be teams interested in signing him.

Rico Gathers has been suspended one game by the NFL.
This stems from last September’s marijuana arrest. As Gather’s first offense, he’s suspended one game. The athletic former basketball player probably isn’t a look to make the Cowboys roster, so this obviously isn’t good as he looks to secure a roster spot this summer.

Michael Roberts reverts back to Lions roster, gets waived.
The Lions said Roberts reverted back to their roster per trade conditions, and we’re assuming it’s a failed physical from his shoulder injury suffered last season. It makes sense for the Lions to simply waive Roberts, as it would’ve been awkward to keep him after just trading him away. Roberts will certainly draw interest from other teams, and it won’t be surprising if he’s claimed off waivers. The Patriots will likely look elsewhere for more tight end help ahead of the season.

David Morgan had arthroscopic knee surgery, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Pelissero says the surgery was done recently and that he’s expected to be ready for the start of training camp. The Vikings are expected to use a lot of multiple tight end sets this season, and Morgan will likely be a much better real-life contributor than fantasy asset in 2019.
