Phillip Dorsett | Free Agent WR

Phillip Dorsett scores in win over the Chiefs.

Dorsett caught a 29-yard touchdown in the first half for his only grab of the game, as he did an excellent job coming back to the football on what should have also been called a pass inference. The speedster will look to make an impact in Super Bowl LIII against the Rams in a couple weeks.

Phillip Dorsett | Free Agent WR

Phillip Dorsett did not catch a pass in Super Bowl LIII.

Dorsett was not targeted in the Patriots’ Super Bowl victory against the Rams, but he’ll certainly take the championship win for which he was a big part of as a guy that seemingly made plays whenever he was called upon this season (including a big touchdown in the AFC title game against the Chiefs). The 2015 first-round pick is set to become a free agent this offseason, and he’d be an interesting free agent assuming he isn’t re-signed by New England before then. We believe Dorsett is one of the league’s most underrated players, and he could be a great value as a strong starting-caliber receiver on the open market.

Tyreek Hill | Dolphins WR

Patriots limit Tyreek Hill in the AFC Championship Game.

While All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore shadowed Sammy Watkins for the most part, Hill drew constant double teams throughout the Chiefs’ AFC title game loss, catching just one pass (on three targets) for 42 yards. The reception came on a very deep corner route on which Hill used his great speed to beat a double team. Entering his fourth NFL season, Hill will offer as much season-long and weekly upside as any wide receiver in fantasy drafts this summer.

Rob Gronkowski | Retired TE

Rob Gronkowski comes up big as Patriots win sixth Lombardi Trophy.

Gronkowski caught six-of-seven targets for 87 yards, with one of the biggest plays of the night coming on a 29-yard reception in the fourth quarter to set up Sony Michel’s game-winning touchdown. On the play, Gronk had two or three guys around him and went down at the two-yard line for what might have been his final career reception. If so, the soon-to-be 30-year-old will go down as perhaps the greatest tight end of all-time, but a late-season resurgence might lead to him returning in 2019. Gronk’s decision might not be made for a few weeks.

2/3/19 - 11:12 PM ET

Chris Hogan | Retired WR

Chris Hogan caught five passes for 45 yards in Sunday’s win over the Chiefs.

Like basically everyone for the Patriots, Hogan made a couple clutch grabs in a 37-31 overtime victory, including a diving one-handed grab that was upheld on review. New England will now play in their third Super Bowl in a row, this time against the up-and-coming Rams.

1/20/19 - 10:33 PM ET

James White | Retired RB

James White gets three touches in Super Bowl LIII.

White had two carried for four yards and one reception for five yards in the Patriots’ Super Bowl victory versus the Rams. LA did a good job of running defenders underneath on White, and it was Julian Edelman (ten receptions, 141 yards) and Rob Gronkowski (six receptions, 87 yards) as the two top targets for Tom Brady throughout the game. In 2019, White will remain a big-time contributor in New England’s offense after recording over 100 receptions between the regular season and postseason, and he’ll offer a pretty solid floor all scoring formats, but he’ll particularly be a strong asset in PPR leagues.

2/3/19 - 11:10 PM ET

Sammy Watkins | Free Agent WR

Sammy Watkins goes over 100 yards in Chiefs’ AFC title game loss.

Watkins caught four passes (on eight targets) for 114 yards, with a long of 54 yards, in the playoff loss to the Patriots. All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore again shadowed Watkins throughout the game, as he did in the two teams’ first matchup, but the explosive receiver was able to get free for some big plays. The biggest play was the 54-yarder in which Watkins turned up field during a Patrick Mahomes scramble, and Mahomes hit him with a deep dime—Watkins nearly scored but was barely tripped up by Gilmore. This was Kansas City’s first loss in a game Watkins had three-plus receptions this season (previously 8-0). Watkins battled a foot injury for most of the season, but he was a major difference-maker when he was on the field, and he’s clearly a signing the Chiefs should be happy with from last offseason. Undervalued among “experts” as a real-life player, Watkins will likely be a steal in the middle rounds of 2019 fantasy drafts.
