Join now >A.J. Green is out of his walking boot.
Green is making good progress from his December toe surgery, and the Pro Bowl receiver is confident he’ll be fine moving forward. Green also says he’s excited about the new offense with new head coach Zac Taylor, as it utilizes more play-action passes like he had with Jay Gruden early in his career. Expect Green, who will turn 31 in July, to be ready to go for the start of training camp, and there’s a chance he gets some work in during minicamp before then.

The Saints have waived Daniel Lasco.
A seventh-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Lasco spent last year on the PUP list, and hasn’t received a touch since his rookie season. New Orleans will almost certainly sign or draft a notable early-down compliment to Alvin Kamara if they let Mark Ingram walk in free agency.

The Texans have hired T.J. Yates as an offensive assistant.
Yates is apparently now retired from the NFL after seven seasons between Houston, Atlanta, Miami, and Buffalo, and he returns to start his career as a coach with a Texans team he had his most success with as a player, seeing some time as a starter. Yates finishes his career with 2,057 passing yards, ten passing touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 107 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown in 22 games. The former fifth-round pick understands Bill O’Brien’s offense and will look to help quarterback Deshaun Watson and other players develop in Houston.

Kyle Shanahan expects Jerick McKinnon to be the team’s lead running back in 2019.
Matt Breida played exceptionally well last season, averaging 5.3 yards per carry on 153 attempts (814 rushing yards) while fighting through multiple injuries, but the Niners targeted McKinnon last offseason to lead San Francisco’s backfield. Shanahan and the Niners see McKinnon as a very explosive player and a perfect fit for their offense, and it looks like he’s locked in as the starter over Breida. The Niners could add another running back in the draft, but they’ll probably roll with a McKinnon/Breida backfield combo led by McKinnon. The former Viking, who is coming off a torn ACL and is said to be on track in his recovery, will have obvious RB1 potential as the lead back in a running-back-friendly offense this season.

A woman has alleged misconduct against Antonio Brown, according to TMZ Sports.
It should be noted that no arrests have been made, but TMZ Sports reports “a woman contacted the Hollywood Police Dept. in Florida in mid-January and made a report alleging misconduct by Brown.” The Hollywood Police Dept. told TMZ that Brown was involved in a “domestic dispute” but that no arrests were made, and TMZ says the matter was investigated. It’s unclear if anything more will be made of this situation, but it’s worth keeping an eye on for a player that’s had off-field issues. If Brown did something physically to a woman, it’s not out of the question that he’d be done in the NFL—though being such a great player would probably help him get another chance. Given everything that’s gone on with the team, and now this, it’s difficult to see the Steelers bringing their All-Pro receiver back in 2019.

John Kuhn has retired from the NFL.
After he wasn’t on a roster last season, Kuhn is officially retiring after 12 NFL season, and he’s retiring as a Green Bay Packer. Kuhn had most of his success in Green Bay, spending ten seasons there from 2007-2015. Especially for a fullback in today’s NFL, Kuhn had a very successful career, scoring 28 career touchdowns (23 with the Packers), making three Pro Bowls, making one First-team All-Pro team (2014), and winning two Super Bowls (XL with Pittsburgh and XLV with Green Bay). Kuhn also has the trademark “KUUUUHN” chant from the Lambeau Field fans, and he’ll long remain a fan favorite in Green Bay. We wish him the best of luck in his post-playing life.

James Develin catches one pass in playoff victory.
It went for nine yards on a short wheel route. Develin also led the way for Sony Michel and Rex Burkhead, each of whom had two touchdowns, and will now lead the way in Super Bowl LIII.
