Sam Darnold | Seahawks QB

The Jets have officially hired Adam Gase as their head coach.

It took a couple of days for the announcement, but the hiring is now official. This is very interesting as Gase remains in the AFC East and joins a team he was 5-1 against as the head coach of the Dolphins the past three seasons. Super Bowl-winning coach Mike McCarthy was still available and was said to be considered for the job, but Gase should be an excellent hire as a bright offensive mind that has many people in his corner including future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning. The hiring of Gase is great news for young quarterback Sam Darnold, who has a very bright future after showing major flashes to end his rookie season, and it’s probably good news for the fantasy values of the skill position players of the Jets—particularly Quincy Enunwa, who could be set for a Jarvis Landry type of role in Gase’s offense.

Amari Cooper | Free Agent WR

Amari Cooper goes over 100 yards in Cowboys’ playoff win.

Cooper caught seven passes for 106 yards, with a long of 34 yards, in the Wild Card Round victory over the Seahawks. He had a big 34-yard reception on a nice diving catch late in the game, along with a key first-down reception on a square-in route where he got wide-open against a zone coverage. Cooper will again work as Dak Prescott’s No. 1 receiver while helping balance the offense in the Divisional Round versus the Saints or Rams.

Mike Wallace | Free Agent WR

Mike Wallace (ankle) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Saints.

Philadelphia has plenty of weapons with or without Wallace, but his return would add another downfield element to the passing attack for Nick Foles. If the veteran suits up, he would likely have a small package of plays as the No. 5 receiver against an attackable New Orleans secondary.

1/11/19 - 02:57 PM ET

Laquon Treadwell | Colts WR

Laquon Treadwell catches one pass in Week 17 loss.

It went for seven yards. Treadwell wasn’t able to make the leap in his third NFL season, but his 35 receptions for 302 yards and one touchdown all ended up being career-highs. A change of scenery might be best for the Ole Miss product, as he’s blocked by Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen in Minnesota.

12/31/18 - 03:06 PM ET

Melvin Gordon III | Free Agent RB

Melvin Gordon is off the Divisional Round injury report.

Despite not logging a full week of practice while dealing with soreness in both knees, Gordon is off the injury report and 100% ready to go for Sunday’s postseason matchup with the Patriots. Expect Gordon to tough it out and handle a heavy workload at less than full strength, and he’ll likely be playing in the snow, which he’s had experience with during his college career at Wisconsin—he had a then NCAA-record 408 rushing yards along with four touchdowns in the snow with the Badgers.

1/11/19 - 02:28 PM ET

Tavon Austin | Free Agent WR

Tavon Austin gets two offensive touches in the Wild Card Round.

Austin had one carry for -3 yards and one reception for seven yards in the Cowboys’ win versus the Seahawks, but he did most of his damage on special teams as a punt returner. In the first half, he had a return touchdown brought back because of a holding call; but in the second half, he had a big 51-yard return to set his team up in favorable field position—he nearly took it all the way but appeared to trip over his own feet. Austin wasn’t in on the last punt return for the Cowboys and appeared to be in some slight discomfort earlier in the game, but he should b fine for next weekend’s playoff game.

1/5/19 - 11:39 PM ET

Hunter Henry | Patriots TE

Hunter Henry (knee) is officially listed as questionable for the Divisional Round.

Henry was able to practice fully this week, but there’s still a chance he isn’t active for Sunday’s playoff matchup in New England. Remember, Henry has been added to the 53-man roster, so he can still be inactive for this weekend and still play this postseason if the Chargers are able to advance. We expect Henry will continue his awesome comeback by playing against the Patriots, but his official status will be known by 11:30 AM ET on Sunday.
