Tavon Austin | Free Agent WR

Tavon Austin (groin) catches one pass in Week 17.

Austin gained ten yards on his lone reception against the Giants in his first game back since Week 6 with a groin injury. Austin’s regular season ends with six carries for 55 yards and eight receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns in seven games. He’s someone to keep an eye on as an under-the-radar difference-maker entering the postseason.

Calvin Ridley | Titans WR

Calvin Ridley scores against the Buccaneers.

Ridley caught five passes for 32 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons’ Week 17 win. The score came on a pass in the flat where he was wide-open. The first-round rookie receiver’s season ends with 64 receptions for 821 yards and ten touchdowns, so it was obviously a very good first NFL season for both himself and fantasy owners that selected him later in drafts. He did show some inconsistency, though, and this year is something he can certainly build on heading into his season season. Ten touchdowns might be difficult to repeat next season, but the Alabama product should make a strong push for 1,000 yards in his second year. Ridley is simply a very good receiver that fits right into Atlanta’s offense and has one of the league’s best quarterbacks throwing to him, making him a valuable fantasy asset.

12/31/18 - 07:55 AM ET

Breshad Perriman | Free Agent WR

Breshad Perriman scores in Week 17 loss.

Perriman caught three passes for 45 yards and a touchdown, also adding a five-yard carry. Baltimore’s former first-round pick was able to find the end zone against them in the first quarter, but the Ravens were able to hold on in a 26-24 victory. Perriman ends the season with 16 receptions for 340 yards (21.3 average) and two touchdowns as a deep threat for Baker Mayfield. It will be interesting to see if the Browns have interest in bringing back the 25-year-old next season.

12/31/18 - 12:19 PM ET

Ryan Griffin | Free Agent TE

Ryan Griffin catches one pass in Week 17.

Griffin gained eight yards on his lone reception versus Jacksonville. Griffin’s regular season ends with 24 receptions for 305 yards, and he’ll now face the Colts in the postseason.

12/31/18 - 09:22 AM ET

Julian Edelman | Retired WR

Julian Edelman stays hot in win over the Jets.

Edelman caught five passes for 69 yards and a touchdown, also adding two carries for 24 yards. The veteran didn’t slow down at all in his age-32 campaign, as despite serving a four-game suspension to start the year, he finishes with 74 receptions for 850 yards and six touchdowns, also chipping in nine carries for 107 yards on the ground. Edelman was arguably the most consistent receiver in the league with at least 5.7 standard fantasy points in every game, including lines of 9/86/1, 7/90, 6/70/1, and 5/69/1 in the fantasy playoffs. Look for him to play a big role in the postseason.

12/31/18 - 10:15 AM ET

Austin Hooper | Patriots TE

Austin Hooper catches five passes in Week 17.

Hooper gained 67 yards on his five receptions versus the Bucs, brining his 2018 total to 71 receptions for 660 yards and four touchdowns, setting career-highs across the board. The third-year tight end was one of the most hyped players throughout the summer, and he pretty much lived up to the hype as a valuable member of Atlanta’s offensive attack. Entering a contract year next season, Hooper should be a decent TE1 option in 2019 fantasy drafts.

12/31/18 - 07:51 AM ET

Philip Rivers | Retired QB

Philip Rivers throws two interceptions against the Broncos.

Rivers was 14/24 for 176 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Chargers’ Week 17 victory. The touchdown was to Mike Williams in the red zone. The veteran quarterback’s strong 2018 regular season ends with 4,308 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions along with a career-high completion percentage of 68.3%. Rivers has thrown two interceptions in each of his last three games, so he must snap out of it ahead of the Chargers going to Baltimore to face the Ravens, who Rivers just faced a couple Saturdays ago, this Sunday in the Wild Card Round. Rivers is looking to get an elusive Super Bowl, so he should be locked in and ready to go for the Chargers.
