Richard Rodgers | Free Agent TE

The Eagles have designated Richard Rodgers to return from injured reserve.

Rodgers suffered a knee injury in the preseason, and he will now have a 21-day window to practice as the team decides whether or not to activate him from IR. It sounds like Rodgers will end up contributing for Philadelphia this season, but he’s highly unlikely to become a fantasy option behind Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert.

Allen Hurns | Free Agent WR

Allen Hurns caught two passes for 40 yards in Sunday night’s win over the Eagles.

Hurns was able to set up a Dallas score with a clutch grab in between two defenders at the end of the first half, and he also helped set up the game-winning touchdown by Ezekiel Elliott in the fourth quarter. The former Jaguar isn’t a recommended fantasy option outside of deeper leagues, but he’s come on over the past three games with lines of 5/74, 1/23/1, and 2/40.

Kenjon Barner | Buccaneers RB

The Patriots released Kenjon Barner, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

Meanwhile, the team is activating second-round rookie cornerback Duke Dawson from injured reserve, so releasing Barner creates roster space for the move. Perhaps Barner will be back with the Patriots, who are currently on their bye week, at some point, but the offense has been using Cordarrelle Patterson at running back behind Sony Michel and James White. Barner offers special-teams value in addition to his ability to contribute on offense.

Carson Wentz | Free Agent QB

Carson Wentz throws for 360 yards in Eagles’ loss.

Wentz was 32/44 for 360 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception along with two carries for seven yards against the Cowboys. The interception was a bad one early in the game when he might have predetermined he was going to throw the ball to Zach Ertz and didn’t see an undercutting Leighton Vander Esch right there in coverage. But Wentz bounced back with a big second half including 17 points after a three-point first half. The Eagles weren’t having trouble moving the ball once they got rolling, and Wentz’s two scores were to Zach Ertz on a pass down the seam and a quick in-breaking route by the goal line. At the end of the game, Wentz drove his team in position for a potential game-tying touchdown, but he threw the ball well short of the goal line to Zach Ertz (who then tried to lateral it to Golden Tate) instead of taking a shot to the end zone. Overall, Wentz again played well, and he’ll have to play well next week against Drew Brees and the Saints in New Orleans.

Le'Veon Bell | Free Agent RB

Le’Veon Bell did not report to the Steelers by the 4:00 PM ET deadline and will not play this season.

The saga is finally over, as the All-Pro running back who seemingly went back and forth on wanting to play and deciding to hold out for his long-term future will officially not play a snap in 2018. Those that spent a high first-round pick on Bell (which happened in virtually every single fantasy league) have certainly been disappointed with zero points from him this season, and James Conner has capitalized on this opportunity to become a force for both the Steelers and fantasy owners. Bell is still very young at just 27 years old in February, but his holdout could potentially cause some teams to be hesitant about signing him to the big-money contract he’s looking for this offseason. However, there’s going to be a ton of cap space in 2019, so some team might end up throwing a bunch of money at the star running back, who will look to make up the $14.5 million he lost by not playing on the tag in 2018. There’s a chance the Steelers transition tag Bell (and then trade him) when the time comes, but there’s no way these two sides are going to continue their relationship after this. Bell’s Pittsburgh career ends with 1,229 carries, 5,336 rushing yards, 35 rushing touchdowns, 312 receptions, 2,660 receiving yards, and seven receiving touchdowns in five seasons.

Amari Cooper | Free Agent WR

Amari Cooper impresses again as Dallas gets a huge win over the Eagles.

Cooper led the team in targets (ten), receptions (six), and yards (75) as Dallas defeated Philadelphia, 27-20. So far on his new team, the former first-round pick has looked like the guy Oakland thought they were consistently going to get, as he’s shown crisp route-running, quality hands, and great explosiveness through two games. Look for Cooper to be featured again for next week’s favorable matchup against the Falcons; he’s trending towards low-end WR2 status.

Terrelle Pryor | Free Agent WR

The Bills released Terrelle Pryor, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Pryor didn’t catch a pass in Buffalo’s win over his former Jets team, and he might not have been happy with his role. The big and athletic receiver will look to land with another team soon. There was some thought of him returning to the Jets before signing with Buffalo, but we’ll see.
