The Packers placed Geronimo Allison on injured reserve.

Allison is undergoing surgery for his groin injury, so this isn’t a surprise. Being placed on injured reserve means Allison will miss at least the next eight games, so his only chance to return would be in the postseason if Green Bay makes it that far. Allison’s season ends with 20 receptions for 303 yards and two touchdowns in five games. Rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who has been impressive the last few games, is locked into a huge role for the rest of the season. It’ll likely be Davante Adams, Randall Cobb, and Valdes-Scantling as the top three receivers moving forward, with Equanimeous St. Brown mixing in.

Nick Mullens says he is starting in Week 10.

Mullens told reporters that Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan has told him he’s starting next Monday night against the Giants. Despite how well Mullens played last Thursday against the Raiders, this is a bit of a surprise considering C.J. Beathard appeared locked in as the team’s long-term backup quarterback. However, it’ll be interesting to see how Mullens fares against defenses that are almost certain to play better than Oakland did last week, and Shanahan probably wants to see how the second-year undrafted quarterback plays. Mullens is not a highly-recommended QB1 option in fantasy lineups, even against a struggling Giants team this week.

The Lions re-signed running back Zach Zenner.

Zenner was placed on injured reserve with a back injury in September, but he’s healthy and is now back with the Lions. Zenner isn’t a fantasy option right now, but he’ll look to contribute to the Lions in real life.

The Lions are signing Bruce Ellington, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Ellington was with the Texans earlier this season but was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury and was then released from injured reserve last week. Ellington played well with the Texans last season, and he’ll look to step into Detroit and make a similar impact in 2018. He’s not a recommended fantasy pickup yet, though.

The Lions are waiving Ameer Abdullah, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Abdullah is being waived to make room for wide receiver Bruce Ellington. The 2015 second-round pick of the Lions had a promising start to his career in Detroit, but injuries derailed things and he later was basically out of the mix with this new regime. Abdullah’s Lions tenure ends with 327 carries for 1,251 yards and six touchdowns along with 57 receptions for 420 yards and three touchdowns. He might go unclaimed on waivers, but there will be teams interested in him after he was a well-liked prospect coming out of Nebraska—the Cardinals notably were frustrated when they were unable to draft him, but they then landed All-Pro David Johnson later in the draft.

Tajae Sharpe catches one pass against the Cowboys.

Sharpe’s lone reception in the Titans’ Monday night win went for no yards. This comes one game after he had a 101-yard performance against the Chargers, so he’s not quite in the conversation as a strong FLEX option yet.

Rod Smith handles one touch in loss to the Titans.

It was an eight-yard reception, as the Ohio State product didn’t receive a carry behind Ezekiel Elliott. Smith is just a handcuff for the 3-5 Cowboys heading into a key matchup against the Eagles.
