Join now >Devonta Freeman (groin) is likely to miss Week 7.
This has been an unfortunate injury-riddled first half of the season for Freeman, who is now dealing with the groin injury on top of his previous knee and foot issues; and it sounds like the groin will be what keeps him out this week over the foot. Perhaps Freeman will make a push to play next Monday night against the Giants, but it doesn’t seem likely. Expect Tevin Coleman and rookie Ito Smith to lead the backfield one week from tonight. We’ll update you if Freeman is able to get up to a limited practice at some point this week.

Josh Gordon (hamstring) was limited in today’s practice.
Gordon has yet to get a full practice in as a Patriot, but it hasn’t affected his play much, as he continues to get more snaps each week. The uberly-talented receiver will be fine on Sunday against the Bears, barring a setback. We’ll update you if anything changes with his practice status, but expect him to be limited tomorrow and Friday.

Geronimo Allison (hamstring) is inactive against the Niners.
Allison was limited in practice throughout the week and is not ready to go in tonight’s game. This will be the second straight missed game for Allison. And with Randall Cobb also out, rookies Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown will again be counted on by Aaron Rodgers and the offense. The Packers have a bye next week, so Allison will hopefully be ready to go in Week 8.

Rob Gronkowski (ankle) remains limited in practice.
Expect the All-Pro tight end to be limited in practice all week, but we’ll let you know if anything changes. Gronkowski might be listed as questionable when the official injury report is released on Friday, but he’s highly unlikely to miss Sunday’s game against the Bears.

Calvin Ridley’s MRI was “pretty clean,” according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
It doesn’t sound like Ridley will miss much time, if any, with this ankle injury, but it’ll be good to hear something from the team directly on this. The Falcons’ Week 7 matchup isn’t until next Monday night, so ideally there’ll be clarity on the situation during this week so fantasy owners will know whether they can put their talented rookie receiver in fantasy lineups before the other games kickoff. But real-life situation are obviously more important, so hopefully Ridley is feeling OK and can be on the field for his team as soon as possible.

Julian Edelman (heel) was a limited participant in today’s practice.
This isn’t thought to be anything that’ll limit Edelman on Sunday, but we’ll keep track of his practice status leading up to the weekend.
10/17/18 - 05:39 PM ET
Matt Breida (knee) is active against the Packers.
After being called doubtful at the start of last week, Breida worked his way into a limited practice on Saturday and a questionable tag for the game, and he’s playing tonight for the Niners. Breida has played through multiple ailments this season, as he’s shown great toughness. The second-year running back is at least a FLEX option for tonight’s matchup.
