Bryce Petty | Free Agent QB

The Dolphins have waived quarterback Bryce Petty.

Petty was on injured reserve, but he’s presumably healthy enough to play and wants an opportunity to sign with another team. The former Baylor star will draw interest around the league.

Tanner McEvoy | Titans WR

The Dolphins waived Tanner McEvoy.

The former Seahawks receiver was claimed by Miami on waivers earlier this month. McEvoy was a special-teams contributor during his time with the Dolphins, so he was off the fantasy radar. The big six-foot-six receiver should land someplace else soon.

Garrett Dickerson | Giants TE

The Giants have promoted Garrett Dickerson from the practice squad.

New York needed a tight end with Evan Engram (knee) out indefinitely, and the undrafted rookie out of Northwestern is getting called up to the 53-man roster. Dickerson is unlikely to turn into a fantasy contributor, so fantasy owners should look elsewhere for a new TE1 with Engram out.

Bruce Ellington | Free Agent WR

The Texans placed Bruce Ellington (hamstring) on injured reserve.

Ellington suffered a hamstring injury in Houston’s loss against the Giants, and it’s serious enough that the team is placing him on IR. Ellington will now miss at least eight weeks, and his season could be over. This puts more on the plates of DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller, and the team will look to rookie Keke Coutee to get healthy and make an impact for them. Ellington can be dropped from all fantasy leagues.

Austin Davis | Retired QB

The Titans are signing Austin Davis, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

With Blaine Gabbert in concussion protocol and Marcus Mariota still not 100% while dealing with his right elbow injury, Davis helps give the Titans more peace of mind at the quarterback position. If Gabbert is out for Week 4 and Mariota still cannot make every throw, there’s a chance Davis could immediately get some time for the Titans. But he’ll have some catching up to do as he learns the offense. He’s obviously not on the fantasy radar.

Greg Olsen | Retired TE

Greg Olsen says he’s “way ahead of the curve” in his recovery from a broken foot.

David Newton of ESPN talked to Olsen at a fundraiser last night, and the Pro Bowl tight end twice said he’s way ahead of the curve, saying that he’s already doing stuff while adding, “last year at two weeks I was laying in my bed in a cast. I couldn’t do anything.” The fact that the Panthers didn’t put Olsen on injured reserve to potentially bring him back as a designated-to-return player after eight weeks indicates he should be back in the first half of this season. The only concern is another re-injury of the foot if he comes back too soon. Olsen is worth a bench hold or IR spot in fantasy leagues as a potential difference-maker in the second half of the year.

Ryan Switzer | Retired WR

Ryan Switzer scores in win over the Bucs.

Switzer caught three passes for nine yards, including a one-yard score in the second quarter. The North Carolina product interestingly lined up at running back on the first play of the game, and he was used in a variety of ways as Pittsburgh made it a point to get him involved. Still, Switzer isn’t a recommended fantasy option and will be a better real-life player in Week 4 against the Ravens.
