Join now >Antonio Gates (illness) is officially active for Week 3.
This was expected, as Gates was dealing with an illness throughout the week. The Rams are susceptible to the middle of the field, so Gates has some TE1 upside as one of Philip Rivers’ red-zone threats.

Royce Freeman scores in Broncos’ win.
Freeman carried eight times for 28 yards and a touchdown against the Raiders, but overall Phillip Lindsay (14 carries for 107 yards) played better. There’s some concern with Lindsay taking a sizable chunk of the workload, but Freeman is the preferred goal-line option for the Broncos, and he’s likely to eventually work his way into the clear lead back role. He might be more of a FLEX option with a difficult matchup against Baltimore next week.

Phillip Lindsay gets ejected against the Ravens.
A little scrum broke out after a strip sack, and the officials ejected Lindsay for throwing a punch. Before leaving, Lindsay had four carries for 20 yards while again splitting backfield work with Royce Freeman (who scored). Especially because this happened in the first half, Lindsay is unlikely to be suspended for Week 4 because of the incident. This could open the door for Freeman to seize more control of Denver’s backfield, though.

Phillip Lindsay sets NFL record as Broncos improve to 2-0.
Lindsay continues to run the ball very well, and he worked as the lead ball-carrier against the Raiders, gaining 107 yards on 14 attempts. He also added a four-yard reception. With the second straight 100-yard performance, Lindsay becomes the first undrafted rookie in NFL history with over 100 scrimmage yards in each of his first two games. While he’s running like this, Lindsay will remain a big part of Denver’s offense. Next week’s matchup with Baltimore is very tough, though.

Evan Engram (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of today’s game.
Engram took a hit to the knee and went to be evaluated at the medical tent, so it’s obviously not a great sign that he’s already been ruled out. We should get more information about Engram later tonight or tomorrow. Before leaving, Engram had one reception for 19 yards against the Texans. Rhett Ellison will take on a larger role with Engram out.
9/23/18 - 02:05 PM ET
Case Keenum scores once in Week 2 win.
Keenum didn’t put up big numbers against the Raiders, but he helped lead Denver to 20 second-half points and a 2-0 start to the season. Keenum was 19/35 for 222 yards and an interception, and he added three carries for 16 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Next week, Keenum has a difficult matchup against a Ravens team that should be focused after a mini bye and after giving up four touchdowns to Andy Dalton.

Evan Engram leaves game with apparent lower leg injury.
Engram took a hit to the knee area and limped off, and now he’s headed inside the blue medical tent on the sideline. Hopefully the injury isn’t too serious, but we’ll update you as more information becomes available.
