Bilal Powell | Retired RB

Bilal Powell gets 14 carries in Jets’ loss.

Powell again worked in an even timeshare with Isaiah Crowell, but Crowell scored twice against his former team. Still, Powell ran the ball well (better than Crowell, overall, aside from the two scores) and had a respectable fantasy performance. He carried 14 times for 73 yards, with a long run of 21 yards. Powell probably needs a score to deliver startable fantasy value in Week 4 against the Jaguars.

Antonio Gates | Retired TE

Antonio Gates held without a reception in Week 2 win.

Gates wasn’t need in a decisive victory over the Bills, but he should be involved early and often next week against a Rams defense that looks vulnerable against tight ends. While the future Hall of Famer carries risk if he isn’t a full-time player, he will likely be ranked as a TE1 option in his best matchup of the year.

9/17/18 - 10:47 AM ET

Sam Darnold | Seahawks QB

Jets offense struggles in Thursday night loss to the Browns.

The passing offense of the Jets couldn’t get much of anything going in Cleveland’s first win since 2016, and Sam Darnold went 15/31 for 169 yards and two interceptions. Both interceptions came late in the game, with one coming on a ball that he forced after getting pressured and the other coming on a desperation deep attempt with under 20 seconds remaining. The stat line obviously isn’t great, but Darnold again showed flashes and made good throws throughout the night. Darnold gets an extremely tough test at Jacksonville in Week 4, so he’s not a recommended fantasy option even with a mini bye.

9/20/18 - 11:39 PM ET

Mike Williams | Chargers WR

Mike Williams scores first career touchdown in win over the Bills.

It came on a ten-yard pass in the first quarter, and Williams finished with two receptions for 27 yards. The 2017 first-round pick should be owned in all leagues as a potential double-digit touchdown threat alongside Keenan Allen, but fantasy owners should keep him out of lineups against the Rams in Week 3 if possible.

9/17/18 - 10:43 AM ET

Tyrod Taylor | Jets QB

Tyrod Taylor (concussion) is out for the rest of tonight’s game.

It’ll be Baker Mayfield for the rest of the second half, and there’s a chance Taylor doesn’t ever hit the field for the Browns again. We’ll see how Mayfield plays after he shows outstanding flashes and gave the Browns a ton of energy to end the second half.

9/20/18 - 10:09 PM ET

James Washington | Free Agent WR

James Washington scores first career touchdown in Week 2.

The rookie receiver made himself available for Ben Roethlisberger on a 14-yard score against the Chiefs, his only reception of the game. Washington did get a good amount of playing time with Justin Hunter a healthy inactive, and he appears to be locked into the clear No. 3 role for the Steelers. Washington joins Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, and JuJu Smith-Schuster as Steelers that have scored on their first career touch, which indicates how well the franchise has drafted at the position in recent years.

9/17/18 - 10:43 AM ET

Tyrod Taylor | Jets QB

Tyrod Taylor is in concussion protocol.

Taylor had his head hit the field pretty hard on his last play late in the second quarter against the Jets, and he went into the blue medical tent before heading to the locker room to be evaluated. No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield is now in the game, and he might not give up the starting job. Before leaving, Taylor was 4/14 for 19 passing yards along with four carries for 22 rushing yards. He notably misses a deep ball for a would-be touchdown to Antonio Callaway, but he uncharacteristically really struggled throughout the game with accuracy and looked indecisive.
