Fuller is working his way back from a hamstring injury from earlier this summer. The third-year receiver is expected to play this Sunday against New England, but it’s no lock at this point.

Sony Michel (knee) was limited in practice.
It’s the first official practice of the week, so being limited isn’t the worst thing in the world. Bill Belihcik admitted the rookie running back has some catching up to do, but that he’s doing a good job at it. It’s still early, but we would lean towards Michel not playing in Week 1, especially if he isn’t able to get in a full practice by Friday.

The Steelers signed Trey Griffey to the practice squad.
This is a good spot for Griffey, remaining in Pittsburgh on the practice squad. He’ll get more solid practice experience behind one of the most talented receiving corps in the NFL.

Rex Burkhead is not listed on the Patriots injury report.
After missing a big chunk of the summer while dealing with some type of knee issue, Burkhead is ready to go for Week 1 against the Texans. We expect Burkhead will get a good number of snaps for one of the league’s best offenses, so he’s at least a solid RB2/FLEX option for Week 1.

The Chargers are releasing Cardale Jones, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The former national championship quarterback at Ohio State and 2016 fourth-round pick of the Bills will now be on his third team in three years in the league unless the Chargers bring him back on the practice squad, which is possible. Geno Smith is Philip Rivers’ backup quarterback.

Vance McDonald (foot) was a limited participant in practice today.
McDonald hasn’t practiced this summer with an undisclosed foot issue, but it’s a good sign to see him out on the practice field in at least a limited basis for the first official practice of the week. McDonald might be on the doubtful side of things for now, but we’ll track his status throughout the next couple of days.

The Broncos are cutting Paxton Lynch, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
After the team claimed Kevin Hogan from the Redskins, it only seemed like a matter of time before this happened. The 2016 first-round pick didn’t pan out for Denver, but perhaps a fresh start will be good for his career. Lynch is just 24 years old and has solid physical tools and size, and he arguably wasn’t in a great situation with the Broncos.
