Troy Niklas | Buccaneers TE

Troy Niklas catches ten-yard pass in Week 3.

It was his only reception of the game. Niklas is not a fantasy option at the moment.

Ameer Abdullah | Free Agent RB

Lions commit to the run again in Week 4.

The Vikings were doing a great job of rushing the passer, but Detroit stayed committed on the ground in the big NFC North win. Ameer Abdullah carried 20 times for 94 yards and a touchdown while adding three receptions for 15 yards. On the touchdown, Abdullah made a great effort by the goal line to shed contact and lunge to extend the ball over for a score. It was certainly a good sign to see him get the goal line carry, which definitely helps his upside. Through four games, Abdullah is on pace for 264 carries, 1,028 yards, and four touchdowns, along with 36 receptions for 260 yards. He’ll remain a good option next week against the Panthers.

10/2/17 - 12:47 PM ET

Tyler Kroft | Free Agent TE

Tyler Kroft scores twice in Week 4.

Kroft caught six of seven targets for 68 yards and two touchdowns against the Browns, with the touchdowns coming from one yard and 16 yards. Kroft was, for some reason, dismissed by many as not a good option as if he can’t play well—he certainly showed he can. The Browns haven’t been good at all against tight ends this season, but Kroft could still put up some solid games moving forward as long as Tyler Eifert (back) is out. He gets the Bills next week.

10/2/17 - 10:29 AM ET

Bilal Powell | Retired RB

Bilal Powell totals 190 yards in win over the Jaguars.

Powell rushed 21 times for 163 yards and one touchdown, adding four catches for 27 yards. The highlight was a 75-yard touchdown were he fell down, all the Jacksonville defenders thought he was touched, and he got up and sprinted about 70 yards for the score. Powell’s workload was the most encouraging thing about the game, and he should see a good amount of touches until Matt Forte (toe) returns. The 28-year-old is on pace for 940 rushing yards and eight scores through four weeks, and he gets a nice matchup with Cleveland next Sunday.

10/2/17 - 10:47 AM ET

Phillip Dorsett | Free Agent WR

Phillip Dorsett catches one pass in Week 4.

Dorsett made a very good diving catch for a 17-yard reception on his only reception of the game. Dorsett is a contributor to the Pats in real life, but he’s not a reliable fantasy option right now.

10/2/17 - 10:12 AM ET

Antonio Gates | Retired TE

Antonio Gates catches two passes in loss to the Chiefs.

The future Hall of Fame tight end was targeted five times and gained 30 yards on his two receptions. Hunter Henry curiously was not targeted in the game after having a good Week 2. Gates has a tough matchup against Philadelphia next week.

9/25/17 - 02:49 PM ET

Lance Kendricks | Chargers TE

Lance Kendricks the tight end to own in Green Bay?

Kendricks caught two passes for 52 yards and one touchdown in the Packers’ win over the Bengals, as Martellus Bennett was held to just 12 yards. The score was a one-yarder where he was uncovered, and he also had a 51-yard reception. As Bennett continues to struggle, Kendricks might see more playing time at his expense. Both are risky, but Kendricks might actually be the recommended fantasy play if you’re going to play one of them against the Bears on Thursday night.
